| Re: Britney Spears Just Won't Go Away They are circling the wagons on Brit. Variety.com - The Firm drops client Britney Spears The Firm drops client Britney Spears Management company cuts pop princess loose By MICHAEL FLEMING In the latest bit of fallout from her much-derided appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears has been dropped as a client by management company The Firm. Spears had been signed recently by The Firm co-head Jeff Kwatinetz, who was planning to spearhead a comeback by the freefalling pop star. "It saddens us to confirm media reports that we have terminated our professional relationship with Britney Spears," The Firm said in a statement. "We have represented Britney for the past month. We believe Britney is enormously talented, and has made a terrific record. But current circumstances have prevented us from properly doing our job. We wish Britney the best." Earlier this year, Endeavor discharged Paris Hilton after she was jailed for a probation violation in June, following two years of repping the heiress. |

| Re: Britney Spears Just Won't Go Away Sorta reminds me of Elvis when he realized he was the talent and had all the power, he self destructed and nothing could stop him. I just hope poor Brit realizes what is happening before it is too late.

| Re: Britney Spears Just Won't Go Away The judge has given a very long list of things for Britney to comply with -- although he is allowing the 50/50 custody to remain as such for now. “Based on the evidence presented, the Court finds that there is a habitual, frequent, and continuous use of controlled substances by Petitioner [Spears],” will have to undergo testing for controlled substances and alcohol. The testing shall be conducted twice per week on random dates and times, and the results will be forwarded to the court. In addition to drug testing, Britney and Kevin - who still maintain 50/50 custody of Tater Tot and Small Fry - will have to both adhere to a long list of court-ordered demands: · Neither Brit nor K-fed can take Sean and Jayden out of state without the written consent of the other. · The exes cannot make derogatory statements about each other. · Both parents must complete the “Parenting Without Conflict” program. · Each party is restrained from using corporal punishment with the children or allowing anyone else to. · They are required to engage in joint co-parenting counseling. · Neither party may consume alcohol or non-prescription controlled substances 12 hours prior to taking custody of the children. · They must ensure that any prospective childcare professionals hold valid Red Cross infant CPR training. While the responsibilities for Federline end there, Judge Gordon tacked on an extra list of tasks for Spears. In order to maintain the current shared custody agreement, the popstar must: · Attend individual counseling at least once a week to address parenting issues. · Meet with a parenting coach for a minimum of 8 hours a week, in at least two sessions a week. The coach is to observe her parenting skills and her interaction with her sons and provide Federline with a written progress report by October 22.

I applaud this judge. It's easy from the outside to just say "take the kids away!" But it DOES make sense to exhaust every opportunity to allow the boys to grow up with their parents before throwing in the towel. He's taking measures to ensure the kid's safety, but not giving up without a fight. As long as the two of them are closely monitored and held to the orders, I think it's a good move.

| Re: Britney Spears Just Won't Go Away On the contrary, I think this judge is probably the best hope Britney has to get her life back together, even if it's only in a small way. Probably a warning call to Kevin, too, but this is going to be the line Britney has to either step over or not.
