| I have no news, I just wanted to go on record as saying that I feel sorry for the poor girl as I feel sorry for every person that spent their childhood under the dominion of stage parents, or any parents that push their kids mercilessly into a life that they themselves want. It is not at all surprising that she is in serious need of help. I think that growing up without a childhood must be somewhat akin to the dreamless sleep of an alcoholic. Too long without dreams and you see pink elephants. Too long without a childhood - well, look what has happened to so many of them. Also, I've never thought that Kevin Federline is quite the lowlife that people are inclined to make him out to be.

| I'm a pretty nice, forgiving person. I always felt bad for Anna Nicole. Before her son died.......I really go off on the housewives of oc.....who else.....ah Oh yeah Tom Cruise and Katie....I just really try to look for the good in people and I really feel bad for people a lot. I think most of us (I hope) are like that. There is more good in people than bad and all that. I am saying that although I get on the bandwagon regarding some of these people making fun of them whatever really sometimes I just feel plain bad for some of them. I just cannot feel too bad for this girl though. I have a 20 year old daughter so I should be able to say what if it were my daughter right? nope nope nope. I think it's got to do with I feel like Britney really manipulated so many people and lied and did what she did because she wanted what she wanted. Maybe I don't have as big a heart as I thought - I don't know. I don't wish her not to get better. She has 2 babies that I hope she will be okay for. Really OK. I could never stand her before and I still cannot stand her. I think she is fake and phoney. I wish her the best (more for her kids) I just think she is way to self-centered and it's just in her. "I'm not a role model" chewing gum looking like a total slut AFTER it was too late she had all these girls looking up to her........ugh. My daughter liked her for a little while but, it was just for a very small period of time (I was really like thank god) I think Madonna is the same. Climbed with nails diggin in all the way to the top (or bottom depending on how you look at fame and all) not caring about anyone or anything. I can't stand either of them. still........they are both moms so I wish them the best .................. |

| I totally agree that she is completely self-centered. But to a degree, i do feel sorry for her because I think that self-centeredness is a product of the environment she wound up in, and the way she was treated in her teen years. She is a text book story of what happens to so many child stars who go terribly wrong in their 20s. With very few exceptions, teens are by design incredibly self-centered people. No problem is as big in the eyes of a teenager as the problems that he or she is facing. No needs are as great as those that he or she has. It is the normal, natural, progression of maturity. But for a person like Britney Spears, her career took those formative years away from her. Rather than being a normal self-centered teenager, she was working (by her own desire most certainly, but one that had to be indulged by her parents and others) and supporting a long line of people - her family, assistants, security, band, body guards, publicists, etc. She was essentially the CEO of a large corporation with a host of people depending on her. When she needed to do appearances, or give an interview, or record an album, she had to show up and do it not just for her, but to bring in money for all those who were counting on her. She was their cash cow, and they were going to do whatever was necessary to keep the money coming in. She didn't have the people around her to protect her as a maturing teenager. She was not nurtured and developed like a normal person is. I feel sorry for her for that, just as I feel sorry for anyone who grows up without having their emotional and physical development both nurtured and protected. Does it mean she's blameless for all that she's going through right now? Absolutely not. But she didn't get to this point on her own.

| I agree. Very good post Veruka. I was in a very bad mood and feel mean about what I wrote. I do not like what I see of Britney and never did but, I should have more compassion. That Mat Lauer (sp) interview was really (IMO) pretty sad. She seemed very lost and I should have some empathy for someone who is obviously suffering. I saw a thing where the pooparazzi were trying to get a pic of her at an AA meeting i think it was on last night. I did feel bad for her when I saw that. I thought it was sweet that Brooke Sheilds offered to help her out. I also had ppd for a month or so when my daughter was 5 months old and it was very scary. I had no idea what was wrong with me and I was very lucky to get a diagnose pretty quick. I was treated with the wrong drug but, I got through (my md gave me xanax and said it was not addictive) again, very well written post!!! |

| Britney also had two children almost back to back and if she had PPD with the first one she may not have noticed it and then with the second child it might have just worsened. I hope she gets proper medical treatment and therapy. |

| Feelin' FoRTified~ | Britney Reveals Longtime Battle With Bulimia - Music News - Playfuls.com - Fun & Entertainment Britney Reveals Longtime Battle With Bulimia 05:31 PM, March 13th 2007 by Andreea Pojar Reports emerged recently claiming the troubled singer who is now struggling in rehab, told doctors at the facility she has been suffering from the eating disorder since she was 16. According to an article in The National Enquirer, Britney Spears has been battling bulimia all her adult life and she finally confessed the fact when she was caught making herself puke at Promises rehab center in Malibu, where she’s unwillingly staying at the pressure of her concerned family. Apparently, she managed to stop making herself sick during her pregnancy but as soon as her first son, Sean Preston, was born, she started again. “Britney has bulimia. She said she’s been throwing up her food since she was 16,” a source told the newspaper. “She’d pig out on junk food - chips, candy, Cokes, cookies and ice cream - and then feel so guilty that she’d make herself throw it up… “The only thing that stopped her from throwing up her food was when she got pregnant the first time. But as soon as she delivered her son Sean Preston, she was back throwing up again to lose the baby weight.” The star, who checked into rehab after shaving her head completely bald, is also said to be suffering from bipolar disorder, paranoid delusions, including the belief that she is being watched and recorded. The article claims she checked her room at rehab for listening devices and hidden cameras. Bipolar Disorder, also known as manic-depression, is a condition that causes the person to have unpredictable moods. “Britney is on medication for bipolar disorder, but she’s been making herself throw up and the medication is not staying in her system like it needs to,” added an insider. “As a result, Britney lose it entirely and tried to hang herself with her bed sheets. A source told the Daily Express: "Doctors are alarmed at the physical state she is in. They confronted her about her desperately unhealthy lifestyle and the truth came pouring out. “For the first few days, she’d take her tablets, then go off and eat breakfast or lunch. She was throwing the whole lot up, so, naturally, her medications weren’t working. Now the medical experts know why, her progress should pick up a little speed." Britney Spears’ ex boyfriend, Isaac Cohen, said on Monday that he hadn’t talked to her in a month and that he’s surprised with her condition. “I was definitely surprised that she went into rehab,” model Isaac Cohen told People Magazine. “I didn’t feel it had to come to that, but you know, if that’s what it takes and if that’s what she needs.” |

| "An insider"? Why is she in a facility where "insiders" are leaking information like a sieve? It makes me a bit skeptical. Sorry. If this is some kind of spin control which leads to her checking out in a month, recording her next album a year later, and back on tour and in videos as a "reborn" artist six months after that... The title of this topic should be taken literally. Britney needs to take the money she's earned--enough to last several lifetimes--and remake her life totally. No more Hollywood, no more showbiz, no more records, no more movies. She needs a quiet life in some quiet southern town, where the paparazzi will get bored of following her around after six months or so, and she spends the rest of her life raising her kids and maybe eventually doing something else with her life.

| I can't imagine why she'd have concerns about being watched…
