I guess Dr. Phil IS that stupid. Any less of a scuzzy famewhore would have realized that this was a time to lie low.

As for Britney, I didn't know until now she was back in the booby-hatch, but YouTube HAS had clips of her from Hollywood TV where she was car shopping again (note: once again driving HERSELF instead of using a driver) and was TOTALLY doing the "speaking in strange foreign tongues" thing big time when she got out of the car.

Still, the skeptic in me still thinks maybe all of this is yet another case of an attention getting stunt. She goes in the hospital again, it means everyone is paying attention to her again. Then she'll get herself released again and wash, rinse, repeat. She's sick, true, but even that is being milked.

So true Krom. It's getting old. She's going to end up sleeping on someone's lawn like that one actress years ago.....the name is not coming to me.... she played Lois Lane in Superman.

Margot Kidder.

But Kidder has the benefit of being someone who reacted properly when she hit bottom--she got treatment. Part of Britney's problem to me seems like part of her condition is that she won't get it (at least properly--being admitted to hospitals short term just to lead a paparazzi train and then getting herself released doesn't count). Kidder didn't want attention--she wanted to get well.

I don't know what is going on with that whole family. I wake up this morning and find out Britney was placed back in the hospital and her parents had to fight (I think) her manager over who was responsible for her. It's always something new with that girl. Maybe Jaime-Lynn will take Britney's spotlight away eventually. Honestly, I don't want to hear anyting about Jaime-Lynn either.

That was it Krom! Kidder....and yes, she did get help right away and is doing well now. She even got her teeth repaired.

Yeah, I first heard some blurbs about the midnight convoy ride sometime after midnight last night when TMZ mentioned that Lufti tipped them off that "it's going to happen tonight" with someone who sounded like Britney in the background. After that, I just rolled my eyes and chalked up another stunt to them. No information that's come out today has told me otherwise. The only problem is that the Brit-Lufti duo apparently didn't bother to let the Spears family in on it, because they do appear to be taking it seriously (as they should), and methinks the best laid plans of Brit and Lufti might be backfiring on them a bit. I hope so. Even if it is probably just another stunt as it appears to be, now that she's in the hospital -- in spite of the circumstances around how she got there -- hopefully her parents can convince a judge or the right people somewhere to force some help on her in some measure. At this point, I don't really care much anymore if she does get her head screwed back on correctly, I'd be satisfied if she'd just stop all the stupid stunts to keep herself in the media. At the very least, get her off the streets driving herself around.

what i don't get is WHY they needed so much police escort???? c'mon, there had to have been some crimes going on in the city that the cops could have been taking care of instead of creating such a scene escorting miss drama-queen to her latest publicity stunt!!!

I agree. But at least we didn't have to endure the constant video of Britney alternately looking crazed or smiling as she was being wheeled into the ambulance. They had even greyed out all of the ambulance windows as well so none of the photographers could get a shot.

I fully believe that this was a well orchestrated event, but I don't believe for a minute that it was at either Britney's or Sam's whim. There was too much coordination right down to ensuring there was a police helicopter blocking airspace so media couldn't film it. That kind of mass police presence doesn't happen at the drop of a hat, and it certainly doesn't happen only because Britney or Sam request it.

Ensuring the media was aware of it... definitely Sam's doing.
