    Poor thing :-P

    Angelina Jolie collapses on set
    Thursday Jan 19 09:00 AEDT

Pregnant superstar Angelina Jolie has sparked a health fear by collapsing and cutting her head, according to reports in the US.

The stunning actress is said to have collapsed while trying to keep up a schedule of long hours filming despite admitting to being five months pregnant with Brad Pitt's child.

Now the reports say a doctor has even put her on a "high risk pregnancy alert".

"Brad's worried sick about her," a source told American magazine Star.

"She looks really frail and she's pale and gaunt. I heard her doctor has put her on a high risk pregnancy alert and Brad has been trying to persuade her to go on a bed rest.

"But she won't hear any of it."

The source added: "She has suffered from very violent morning sickness. She could hardly keep her food down and she's been suffering from fainting and dizzy spells.

"Brad doesn't want to leave her side and is clucking around her like a mother hen.

"Brad is really the mothering kind and he's not going too let anything happen to her or the unborn baby."

Brad is not the only one who is allegedly concerned about the Tomb Raider star.

"I heard that her doctor has warned Angelina that she's not to drive or to fly on her own, and that she must have an adult with her at all times in case she passes out," the source told Star.

Physicians warn that she has to take things easy.

Dr Steven Goldstein, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology in New York, has not treated the star, but warned: "She may be pushing herself too hard.

"She needs to listen to the ebb-and-flow of her body's rhythms - how she's feeling and what it's telling her."

A source added: "It sounds like Angelina has high blood sugar and is also anemic. She's working with a nutritionist and taking supplements."

Despite the concerns, doctors say Angelina's highly-visible veins in her arms are not anything to be worried about, merely being a sign of a pregnant woman's increased blood supply and extra body heat generated during pregnancy.

It sounds like her pregnancy is going to be as miserable as mine was. I was not good at being pregnant. I had similiar issues.

I don't know what kind of paper that is reporting, but high blood sugar doesn't cause you to faint. I really hope she listens to doctors' advice and rests if that's what they prescribe. You only get one chance to cook that baby in the oven, and it's not like she's financially needy or anything.

Hep, I never fainted, but I almost fainted several times. It actually wasn't high blood sugar that caused it with me. It was that my blood sugar was fluctuating wildly through my 5-7th month. I don't remember what exactly was happening or why, but I had to keep peanuts and jerky with me to get my sugar levels back to normal when I'd start feeling faint. I'm figuring that's probably what the news source meant (if Angelina is having the same problem I had).

I'm not surprised - pretty much every pregnant woman gets dizzy or has odd times where she needs to eat RIGHT NOW. It's just that unregulated high blood sugar is a serious condition that would require hospitalization. High blood sugar is extremely dangerous to the baby.

The only reason I pointed it out is that it sounds like hyperbole. She should rest if the doctor is telling her to, but they don't have to make it sound like she's risking the health of the child unnecessarily. Is this a tabloid paper, does anyone know?

I think its hyperbole, too. I had my faint-feeling spells, but it didn't stop me from working. My doctor did tell me to be careful driving alone, but it wasn't like there was a health risk for me or the baby. It was just an inconvenience more than anything else.

Well, I hope Angelina is all right and the baby is fine. I, personally, love Angelina and think it's wonderful she and Brad Pitt are going to have a child. She's a fantastic, loving mom, and Brad seems like he truly wants to be a good father, so congratulations to them.

I somehow doubt they'll marry; Angelina doesn't seem like she wants to go there again, and I'd read in a recent interview with Jenny Shimizu where Jenny basically says Angie still contacts her for booty calls. Okay, she doesn't phrase it that way, but she says things will "never be over" between the two of them, and that she doubts Angelina will ever settle down and marry.

Funny thing, when we were coming back from Christmas hols, on the plane I was reading this magazine (which had a gigantic picture or Angelina on the cover and big, tabloid-y headlines) and John Voight was on our flight. Our seats were near the bathroom, so whenever Papa Jolie got up to use the loo, I was embarassed and worried he'd see me reading it. He seemed very nice, anyway.
