    Re: Miscellaneous Celebrity News

Actually, everything worked out pretty well for me, where our son was concerned, and I am not in New York. As far as I was concerned, I was divorcing an idiot who did not want to hire an attorney...all the better for me. He never really protested any decision that I made, regarding our son, and his dad's contact was, usually initiated by me....as in I told him what was going to be happening as far as when our son was going to be with him due to my schedule issues. He did not fight me on it. That was a good thing. "The boys" would, occasionally, take a little trip together; I never stood in the way of their time. I did hate that "former" did not show more initiative, on his own, where our son was concerned. I think I was extremely reasonable.

What I learned, from my experience, was that he who pays tends to win! I guess it would have been "she", in my case, and that it pays to speak firmly and stand your ground! Hang tough, Katie!!

p.s. Forgot to add that "former" also ended up paying half of MY attorney fees!

You could argue that Nicole (being Catholic) was never really "married" to Tom (being a Scientologist) since their union would not have been blessed by her church.
You could argue the same thing with Katie Holmes, then, too.
She was a Catholic and, allegedly, her parents had major issue with this from the beginning.

Wouldn't be holding my breath on this one. When something seems too good to be real, it usually is.

Well...her father practices matrimonial law and, it is rumored, hated Tom Cruise, so I'm sure he's been collecting information for quite some time that would be advantageous to a quick settlement. I'm sure the prenup also helped with the speedy settlement because she already knew what she would get out of the marriage if she left him (or, if he violated any of the clauses that would release her from the agreement--he'd want a quiet settlement to keep the info out of the tabloids).

Me? I'm relieved that we won't have to endure months of Tom and Katie artificial divorce hysteria in the "news."

I think everyone is. I just saw ET and they said Kate took Suri our for lunch, as if we care.

I hope her career blossoms, for me she is not a very good actress.

Oh, thank goodness! I was soooo worried about whether Suri was eating or not. I can rest now that ET has put my mind at ease. ::snark::
