Re: Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes

What's INSANE is that Funny or Die has made YouTube yank every copy re-posted there. I mean I get protecting your property, but they are passing up a LOT of free attention--especially since the videos were watermarked with Funny or Die.com on them. Free exposure. Where millions would see it. It likely would have been one of the top videos on YT if they hadn't made them yank it.

I love how his partner defends him by stating a person has the right to practice whatever religion they choose blah blah. Yes, we all do. What we don't have a right to do is try to shove it down everyone's throats how much better we are than they are.

That is true. The way that tom says scientologists are authorities on "everything" well, actions speak louder than words. Lets see you bring some countries together, starting in the mideast.
Heck for that matter, start with our own government.

Hmm.

YouTube search "Tom Cruise Scientology Leaked Tape (Parody)" by pzottolo.

Guy actually posted this way back on the 16th.

In some ways its not nearly as good as Jerry's, or even Craig Fergusson's, but the guy DOES push the joke a bit further. He just fails.

Oh this is cute: YouTube search for "Xenu is my homeboy".

Sheesh, lighten up Adam, Ben, and the rest! To channel Larry the Cable Guy, "That's funny right there, I don't care who you are" (referring to Jerry's parody). I had forgotten Jerry O was in Jerry Maguire with Tom. I wonder if he did the parody because he doesn't like Tom or maybe he thought they were friendly enough that Tom would get a kick out of it.

Adam Sandler: Stop Picking on Tom Cruise - Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise : People.com

Quote:
Tom Cruise has been taking a beating in the press lately, but several of the star's pals are standing up for him.

Adam Sandler tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement, "To see anyone's private life invaded and mocked like this is sickening. It's especially gross when it happens to a guy like Cruise, who's a great dad, a great husband, and a great friend."

Earlier this month, Andrew Morton's scathing biography of Cruise hit shelves; meanwhile, a pro-Scientology video starring the actor hit the Internet and became the butt of jokes. But many of Cruise's friends and colleagues are not laughing.

Dustin Hoffman, Cruise's Rain Man co-star, tells PEOPLE: "Tom Cruise is an American and has the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion."

Dan Snyder, the Washington Redskins owner who has a financing deal with Cruise/Wagner Productions, is also defending the star. "Tom is a winner. That's a fact," Snyder writes in an e-mail. "He is a terrific actor, a terrific father and a terrific person. I'm proud to be his friend."

In this week's issue of PEOPLE, other stars – including Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller and mogul Harvey Weinstein – also speak out in defense of their friend. "Imagine having a baby and people talking about it the way they did," says Stiller. "People lose sight of the fact that Tom Cruise is actually a person. I feel for him."

Re: Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes

This is just a case of the wagons circling and these people protecting their own. They don't set ANY accountability for Tom drawing countless people into a dangerous cult. None.

Sure "Tom Cruise is an American and has the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion." But we as the public also have the right to be disgusted at how he exercises that right, and also, honestly, with all of the evidence to question if it really IS a religion.

Adam Sandler just needs to shut his mouth. He's made a living of making fun of people and now he's offended because the target is someone who's buttered him up and/or influence peddled for him? Sheesh. Ditto for Ben Stiller. I mean I get the general notion that "Tom is a person", but it loses sight of why Tom is now being attacked. Yes, in part for acting like a loon, but also because he's purposely spreading his brand of lunacy to others.

What Tom being "a winner" has to do with anything, I don't know.

If Tom was just some actor who had some very private kooky beliefs, ALL of these defenses would mean a heck a lot more than they do. As things ACTUALLY are? They just make me even more frustrated at Hollywood. Were ANY of these people Nicole's friends? I pray not, because then this defense of Tom and his evil alliances would seem REALLY cold. Where were these people when Tom's Scientology pals put the squeeze on Nicole to keep her mouth shut about all things Scientological or have the contents of her auditing sessions leaked? I have almost NO doubt that really happened at this point, even though I used to be skeptical.

To me, it doesn't have anything to do with anything, because as he used the phrase, it's only his own personal (well, the public version) opinion of Tom as a person, and that's subjective to the observer.

To me, Tom's a loser in a big sense. He's not a good actor, and his sense of entitlement means he feels he's free to attack whatever/whoever he wants, such as Brooke Shields or any mother who's ever suffered PPD, act any way he wants, deny any medical or scientific fact he wants because he thinks he knows things mere mortals don't know... and yet still feels he shouldn't be held to any accountability or ridicule by the public just because he's a superbeing in his own mind. The very things he thinks sets him above mere non-Scientology mortals is the very thing that makes him such a loser and so easy for 'mere mortals' to ridicule.

Funny thing that... when one human being decides he's above the masses and keeps himself floating above them... the masses below him are in a perfect position to smell the crap emanating from him.

Maybe these same people sat through an "auditing session" in the past and they just making sure it stays in the past.

I don't buy into anything tom or katie promote. Even the NYC Marathon, IMO, was a hoax.

I agree about the acting thing. Whenever I see a Tom Cruise movie, no matter what kind of peril he finds himself in, I always know he's going to come out smelling like a rose, because it's Tom Cruise. His action movies are a waste of time because of it.

Re: Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes

He has zero range. He plays the same person, himself, in every movie. It's boring. He was more fun to watch when he was younger and not so full of himself.
