7/17 Recap – Shadowboxing in the Church of the Poison Mind

Last week on Celebrity Fit Club we saw just how crazy Gary Busey really is, watched Jackee Harry butt heads with trainer Harvey, learned about Victoria Jackson’s issues with her dad and saw that Toccara really doesn’t think she has a weight problem at all.

Up tonight – Fit Club heads into the boxing ring where Jani breaks a rib and Gary manages to moon and/or offend everyone. There’s also some sparring outside of the ring. Let’s get started!

It’s day 17 (of 100) of Fit Club and the celebs show up to the second weigh-in of the challenge. The teams were to have come up with names for their respective teams. Gary tells us that his team will be called the “Crunch-O-Matics.” Jackée’s team will be called “Sizzling Soul and White Ice.” Wha? *shakes head* I’m not sure which name is worse, but both leave our host, Ant, shaking his head. Ant goes on to ask the team leaders to predict which member(s) of their team did not make their weight loss goals. Gary chooses Wendy, while Jackée falls on her own sword and names herself. We’ll find out the results of the weigh-in a little later.

Yet Another Fashion Don’t
Fit Camp number two will take place at the Hollywood Boxing Gym. The group starts their warm up by jumping rope and soon, Gary’s pants fall down and we are treated to a shot of his boxer briefs. As if that’s not bad enough, he turns around and we get a clear shot of his behind. Where are those computer blurring-out people (technical term) when we need them? Gary gets his clothing situation handled and everyone gets ready to get into the ring. Victoria pleadingly asks if they can work out without hurting another person. Jani tells us that he was a Golden Gloves fighter in high school. Ah yes, but that was eons ago, so don’t go thinking you’re on The Contender or anything, man.

It’s time for everyone to take their turn in the ring. Their sparring partner is Patrick, a professional boxer. Just as I’m imagining Jackée with a bloody nose and Willie with a black eye, we learn that only the celebs will be throwing punches. So, once again, meet Patrick, Human Punching Bag. We are told that the winner of this week’s fit camp will be determined by who throws the most “clean” punches.

Floating Like a ….er…. Lummox
First up is Willie, who scores a respectable 30 punches, while giving me flashbacks of Barry Williams and Danny Bonaduce on Celebrity Boxing. Tocarra is up next and she proceeds to wail on Patrick like a woman scorned. Her final score: 35. Next up is Wendy, who accuses Patrick of making her run around the ring after him. Honestly, it did seem as if she had to chase him quite a bit. Wendy’s score: an out-of-breath 25. Phil scores a surprising 37 punches, many of them head blows. I’m starting to worry about [boxer name]. Next up is pacifist Victoria who suddenly turns into a battering ram as she proceeds to beat on Patrick with surprising ferocity. Maybe she’s channeling her rage at her father. Final score: 36. Jackée follows with a score of 30. That puts the team scores at 102 for Jackée’s team and 91 for Gary’s team.

Harvey’s had enough of this human punching bag business and he decides to change the rules of this competition. The final two fighters, Gary and Jani, will actually be sparring with Patrick. Gary is up first and even Patrick is freaked out by him and his creepy stare. Gary’s score: 28 punches and an asthma attack. Jani, Mr. “I Was a Golden Gloves Boxer,” scores the lowest with 14 punches. He also gets a broken rib for his trouble.
Final score: red team: 116, blue team: 119. Gary’s team wins. Their prize is a home boxing gym from TKO Sports.

Praying for Laryngitis
The drama is just beginning though, as Gary brings his team together in prayer. Gary, we will learn, is a part of the ministry. What ministry is that Gary? The Church of the Chemical Imbalance? The team stands together, heads bowed, as Gary starts off on his prayer. It all goes fine until he mentions Jesus Christ and Wendy slams on the brakes. She says that not everyone has those same beliefs and asks if he could say “God” instead. What ensues is a war of words that leaves Harvey shaking his head and telling us that these people are a bunch of serious head cases. Word. He also says that if they all spent as much energy exercising as they did running their mouths, they wouldn’t be so fat.

The fight continues and Gary attempts to throw Wendy off his team. Gary tells us that, “the anti-Christ is everywhere.” And what, Gary? The anti-Christ is now walking the earth in the form of the Snapple Lady? Willie sums up my feelings about the whole thing perfectly, saying that the whole thing was “crap.”

Weigh-in results:

Crunch-O-Matics
Gary
By using the three F’s: focus, follow-through and free weights, Gary more than made his weight loss goal this week. I’ve lost track of the product placements, but the next obvious one is Nutri-System. It seems that most of the celebs are having Nutri-System food delivered…..and some of them are even eating it.
Weight: 195 lbs (height: 6’)
Weight loss: 14 lbs
Weight loss goal for the next weigh-in: 6 lbs

Wendy
Wendy is excited about making her weight loss goal this week. I have to call b.s. though when she tells the experts that she’s happy with her team and feels like they have potential. Please Wen, we all know you think Gary is a nut burger. WE think Gary is a nut burger.
Weight: 219 lbs (height: 5’2”)
Weight loss: 7 lbs
Weight loss goal for the next weigh-in: 6 lbs

Victoria
As Ant calls Victoria to the scales, she tells him that she’s scared because she doesn’t know how to lose weight. She is then clearly elated over having made her weight loss goal for the week. We learn that Victoria is also doing Nutri-System, along with her kids and her dogs. We see footage of Victoria attempting to prepare the food (with her husband ribbing her about not knowing what a sauce pan is – and he’s right), which she then gives to her son. We also see her feeding some sort of snack chip to her dogs. No word on whether Victoria is eating the stuff herself.
Weight: 163 lbs (height: 5’5”)
Weight loss: 4 lbs
Weight loss goal for the next weigh-in: 4 lbs

Willie
Willie is floored by the amount of weight he’s lost and, although he missed all of his training sessions, he has been walking a lot with his family. He says that he feels better, stuck to the diet, got more rest and is getting support from his wife and daughter. Looks like we’ll be waiting at least one more week for the war of words between Willie and Harvey.
Weight: 176 lbs (height: 5’5”)
Weight loss: 11 lbs
Weight loss goal for the next weigh-in: 5 lbs

Sizzling Soul and White Ice
Jackée
Jackée more than exceeds her weight loss goal of 4 pounds this time and says that she doesn’t feel like she lost that much. She tells Harvey that she actually joined a gym and exercised. It’s yet another product placement, as we see Jackée at World Gym with her personal trainer, Mario. Jackée moans and groans through most of the workout but says that she can see the value in it. Considering that last week she said she wasn’t going to exercise, this is great progress. I was thinking that the only exercise Jackée would be getting would come from lifting giant cheeseburgers to her mouth.
Weight: 194 lbs (height: 5’7”)
Weight loss: 8 lbs
Weight loss goal for the next weigh-in: 5 lbs

Phil
Phil is on Nutri-System as well, although he’s a bit confused by the “system.” We see a clip of Phil and his wife attempting to prepare a meal. First Phil wants to put a bunch of cheese on one of the meals, and then they discover he has eaten two entrees as one meal. Considering the amount of food we saw Phil eating last week, two of those little entrees must seem like an appetizer. I must say, Phil seems to have a very good attitude.... unlike some of the other celebs.
Weight: 342 lbs (height: 5’11”)
Weight loss: 11 lbs
Weight loss goal for the next weigh-in: 8 lbs

Toccara
Toccara has also joined World Gym and we see her working out with her personal trainer, Adam. He puts her through her paces and she starts looking pretty worn out. At one point, she whines “My breast are too big!” to which Adam replies, “That’s no excuse.” Just when I think Adam is some kind of hard-ass, we see him giving Toccara her post-work-out massage. Oh Adam. Dr. Ian, in an attempt to get Toccara to understand the seriousness of the situation, shows her an age-progression of herself in 10 years if she continues to gain weight at the same rate. He tells her about all the health problems she will open herself up to if she doesn’t get her weight under control. It’s all a big party for Toccara, though and it seems to go in one ear and out the other.
Weight: 200 lbs (height: 5’9”)
Weight loss: 5 lbs
Weight loss goal for the next weigh-in: 6 lbs

Jani
As Jani stands before the expert panel, it’s obvious he’s not feeling great. Dr. Linda asks if he’s okay. Jani says that he is concerned that he didn’t lose any weight, but that he’s dealing with issues at home. We see a video of Jani talking to Dr. Linda and telling her that he is being sabotaged at home. He cannot speak about it, but he is going through what sounds like a pretty nasty divorce. He tells Harvey that he is committed to losing weight and that he showed up for his training sessions. Harvey, whose b.s. meter is working overtime this episode, says that yes, Jani did show up for one training session….. three hours late! Jani promises to work harder and meet his weight loss goal for the next weigh-in.
Weight: 190 lbs (height: 6’)
Weight loss: 0 lbs
Weight loss goal for the next weigh-in: 5 lbs

Jackée can’t hold it in any longer. She says that she is p.o.’ed about the lack of effort made this week by Toccara and Jani. Jackée takes Toccara to task for not making her weight goal: she was supposed to have lost 6 pounds, but only lost 5. She then lays into Jani for his poor performance in the boxing competition and says that he should have tried harder, even with the broken rib. Dang. Harvey’s got nothing on Drill Sergeant Harry. I hope she is reminded of this moment when she gives a less than stellar performance next week – oh come on, you know it’s going to happen.

A Shocking Turn of Events…. Not
As if we needed to go to the trouble of weighing everyone to find out which team is ahead. At least they all got come exercise walking out to and then climbing onto the giant scales. No one should be surprised that this week’s winner is Gary’s team with a total weight loss of 36 pounds. Jackée’s team only lost 24 pounds.

Next week: Jani disappears, Jackée rolls out the excuses and Toccara reveals a diet pill habit. Really, this show is getting juicer than Dynasty!

Is Jani Lane, the long lost brother of Dr. Frankenfurter? Critical@fansofrealitytv.com

Well, they do say the Anti-Christ is going to be someone everybody loves. Maybe Gary is right, maybe the Snapple lady is the Anti Christ.....or maybe Gary is just a nut burger.

bravo! Thanks for the great recap. It's almost as good and not quite as painful as actually watching it!

PS Do you know how I can get a job as a computer blurring-out person? It's not listed on Monster.com - Thanks.
