When the cameras started focusing in on whatever Lou's face was doing in the boardroom, I was fully expecting him to turn green and bust out of his clothes.

Anyway, I hate how Lou always falls back on using his hearing challenges as an excuse. My husband is HOH, doesn't have access to anywhere near the resources that Lou does, wears a not-state-of-the-art hearing aid (just one that we can afford, as it's not covered by our HMO) — yet he works hard, always goes above and beyond, and tactfully helps people to communicate effectively with him when they're either ignorant or need reminders. And even when things get frustrating, especially at work, he never turns into a whiny big baby nor makes excuses.

I was at a loss for words. Okay, not mentally challenged. Insert something softer like not that sharp or on the ball. I didn't mean to imply he had brain damage. He is not on a level playing field.

Actually, there is some sympathy for Lou in me. Several years ago, I developed severe tinnitus, and I will live with it for the rest of my life, barring a medical miracle. I find it very difficult to follow conversations in rooms where many people are talking at the same time (restaurants, etc.). I can barely differentiate when I'm in the car and a talk radio station is on and someone in the car speaks. And my frustration sometimes makes me sound crabby when I say, "I can't understand what you're saying."

Even with that sympathetic bent, though, Lou strikes me as someone who has not learned good coping skills. From his "if you were a man I'd throw you through that wall" comment, it sounds like he uses the threat of using his physical size to compensate for his lack of coping skills.

And that non-professional opinion is worth every cent you paid for it.

Ahh, AZ, if you come across that MIRACLE, will you let me know. My hubby has suffered with it for the better part of ten years. He has been checked out by EAR specialists in NYC and Boston … everything comes back completely normal.

Next week... and more I do not generally put up with idiots on shows like Survivor (read:Colton) or especially the Biggest Loser (Conda et al.), but this show is my train wreck of choice. The more drama and ridiculous behaviour I see the more I love it. It's just fun.

... or he has indeed learned them (how old is he?!), but he's too lazy or too privileged to actually use them.

I like Clay's charity and I love Penn. That two would be my ideal final two. But I am thinking that Someone earlier in the alphabet makes it instead of Penn.

Arrogant comments like that are what made Lou look like a jackass. And of course the constant "110%". Especially since he hardly has anything to back his ego up.
