    From TMZ

Bret Michaels is awake, in good spirits and talking

Ambre Lake, the Season 2 winner of "Rock of Love," told TMZ that she's spoken with people who are close to Bret and who say he's stabilized and conscious.

The next 24 to 48 hours are critical -- Bret will be closely monitored.

Two health incidents in one week. That is shocking. The partying lifestyle is catching up to him, I suppose.

Wally Sychak, Bret Michael’s father, is speaking out on Bret’s condition. After being hospitalized for a brain hemorrhage, fans of Michaels have been up in arms, waiting to hear how their rock star was holding up, if he’d be okay, if what was being said about him was true. While Bret’s publicist confirmed that the singer was hospitalized,
we haven’t heard much about his status until now. The good news is that Bret has went from critical to stable condition.

And Michael’s father is confirming that Bret sounds good. Sychak told RadarOnline.com, “I talked to him this morning,. He sounded upbeat and positive but they had him sedated. But he’s doing good. He sounded like my son.”

As far as what caused this to happen? Sychak added, “While doctors have not determined what caused Bret’s brain to begin bleeding, they all seem to agree that it—along with his recent appendectomy—are complications relating to his type 1 diabetes.”
Sychak also mentioned that both of Michael’s daughters and his ex Kristi Lee Gibson were at Bret’s bedside. His status has gone from critical to stable, so hopefully things continue to get better for him and his family. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

This has got to be tough for not only Bret Michael’s father Wally Sychak but for his young daughters, not quite understanding what is happening to their dad. I can’t even imagine. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bret’s family, friends and fans. Hopefully we get good news from here on out!

Of course. I have read up some on Type 1 Diabetes and it is an extremely serious condition. If partying causes appendix attacks and brain hemmorages, there should be a lot more celebrity bodies to show for it.

If his TV persona is any indication, it's clear that women are his big vice, and he likes to have a good time, but I have also heard that Bret keeps a very heavy tour schedule and is a hardworking guy. I hope these health scares result in him looking after himself, if for no other reason that for the sake of his daughters. Thank you jucamer for posting the positive news from his father. I'm hopeful he will make a full and speedy recovery.

Re: Bret Michaels - Season 3

Since watching The Apprentice I've found myself really liking Bret Michaels which surprised me, quite honestly. I guess I had some preconceived ideas about the guy (same sitiuation with Pam Anderson on DWTS) and those notions have been proven wrong.

I wish Brett all the best and am saying prayers for he and his family.

I also had preconceived ideas about Bret before CA and found him to be a very likeable and hard working man. Saying prayers for Bret and his family.

Does anyone know if the Apprentice finale is live or pre-taped? I think they have all been live in the past, but I could be remembering it wrong. If Bret did in fact make it to the end, I wonder how that will play out now. It sounds as if he is doing better, so that is a great thing- poor guy. I didn't expect to like him going in, but I actually like him very much. I wish him well.

I just hope that RockSolid wins this week and that Brett doesn't get fired. That would be really bad timing.
