Am I the only one that had a hard time tolerating both of the finalists? I could only take the finale in small doses and only caught a few minutes in between the time that I was waiting for the obvious winner to be announced. Glad this season is in the bag, if it should return, please let there be better contestants and may "The Hair" have a solid reason for firing the people that he decides to let go.

Wow, what a charmer. She gets along with everyone but evil Annie Duke!!!
Thanks for this interview! It essentially shows everyone just how intolerable Rivers behavior was toward everyone and that she is the reason the designer quit, end of story.

but part of the task WAS incorporating the sponsors into the room. I thought the walking into the photo frame was great

I don't think it was he had a problem with incorporating the sponsors, but from the sound of his quote, it implies that Joan was making it more about Kodak (i.e. a store front) than benefitting her charity. But, even without that being considered, it sounds like he had several reasons to leave the competition.

I will say however, I felt it unfair to penalize Annie as well by him stepping down. In a way, it almost seems to me that someone told him that if he refused to work with Joan and quit, then he could not work for Annie to be "fair."

Been wondering too how Joan managed to get more celebrities. From what I saw - both women had many celebrities, but Joan also had the additional star impersonators - none of whom really looked like their counterparts. Plus, there were TWO Liza Manelli's - last time I checked there was only ONE of them in real life (i.e. no twin )

Rather, Annie politely allowed Maleficent Joan to hold her hand in what I personally believe was nothing more than attempt to make The Borg Queen Joan appear to be less of a harpy/shrew than she is.
Uncle David, thanks for recapping the moments. After all this talk of rejecting a hug, I had to go back to the footage as well and it's exactly as you described. Oh and the strikeouts... pure genius.. lol

CharmingFrock, thank you quoting the Tutura comments. I was wondering if we'd ever get to hear his side of the story. Although, I guess it still doesn't fully explain what happened on the show.

I'm really sad to see what has become of this show. I found it entertaining up until the show pretty much confirmed that there are no rules to the game and that whoever gets fired and hired will be entirely arbitrary.

For me, I can probably pinpoint my disappointment in the show to four events on the show:
    1) Khloe getting kicked off for something unrelated to the show.
    2) Melissa getting fired over Brande for not doing anything wrong (on that task)
    3) Joan getting picked for the final 2. Selecting Annie seemed like an easy choice. But Joan, along with Jesse, have had the least amount of fundraising dollars under their belts... unlike Brande... and wasn't that the WHOLE basis for firing Melissa??
    4) The finale. hey, since it's no longer about making money for charity, let's just make up some random criteria...

I'll accept that producers will find ways to influence and/or script the show, but at least pretend you're following the rules you set up. If you take out the rules, the competition loses all meaning.

At the moment I pretty aggravated by he show and am not sure if I'll bother with the next season... and I've watched every single Apprentice season to date...

that designer acted like a baby IMO - a baby with a huge ego!! So Joan didn't like his ideas ... it's her project, she should have been able to design the room. She didn't like his ideas (I didn't either) and so he quit - but not only was he a suck and left Joan in the lurch, he quit on Annie too. How does Joan get blamed for this? it was the egocentric designer that should be held responsible for it

How does Joan get blamed for this? Because, according to the designer "Joan Rivers unprofessional actions and attempts at creating false drama were unexpected and offensive" and "Joan Rivers' behavior towards any human being was so unacceptable -- such a monster". That's how. Apparently he found her to be the vicious bitch I have always, for thirty-odd years, considered her to be.

Of course he's going to put the blame on her LOL his business is at stake if he doesn't, for leaving a client in the lurch 'cause she didn't agree with him .... he's a diva IMO

and just how does he justify quitting on Annie too? very unprofessional of him as she had nothing to do with it. He acted like a baby by quitting the show 'cause Joan didn't go "gaga" over his design ... not somebody I'd want to hire if he won't listen to their ideas about how they want it to look.

I think that the explanation Melissa offered during the show of the communication breakdown between Joan and David made total sense, and is quite plausible. Joan's got a team of designers she's used to working with. They know each others short hand. They can say things like "meet me by the place at the thing where we did that the one time" and know exactly where to go and when. David does not obviously have that advantage. Joan, being so used to doing such events with other people is going to have a hard time adjusting her thought process and communication for a new person. That new person is obviously going to have a hard time figuring out how to adjust ... bound by concern over the rules laid out for him by the producer. That there would be a problem makes sense to me, and I don't find anyone at fault for it.

Even with the interview from David, I STILL believe that his quitting was producer interference. I always will think that - and yes, it makes sense to me that David would give antoher story because he would nto be allowed to tell the real story. I honestly think it says much more positive about him if he was brought on to quit then if he actually breeched the contract that he had entered into and simply quit out of frustration.

Sounds plausible and I sure hope that's the way it went down. Would also explain why Trump didn't question Joan when she said that everything Annie said was lies as she wasn't the one that "caused" the design company to quit. Maybe it was just a "test" to see what they could come up with in a pinch... who knows

Joan's charity workers really impressed me. Which reminds me, we all know that Joan has worked with her charity for years - does anybody know how long Annie has been involved with hers? I know I'm cynical where Annie is concerned, but watching her footage on starving children just made me think that she did some research before picking a charity to see which one would tug at heart strings more. I think it's a wonderful charity, don't get me wrong, just wondering how long Annie has supported it, that's all.
