I think we know most all of what she responded to. Sorry, but in my opinion we don't need to look for some deep conspiracy for why Omarosa was both not likeable and fired.Originally Posted by pleasant1

I'm not looking for any deep conspiracy theory, it's doesn't take any deep analyzing to know that these things are edited and they give you what they want to give you.Originally Posted by Bill_in_PDX

With regards to just Apprentice, I don't think they've made Kwarme look bad. He doesn't seem to me to have good leadership skills, but I don't think a lot of the candidates remaining do either. I think they do portray him as a nice guy. Versus Nick who is portrayed as an arrogant and incompetent leader. They haven't portrayed Heidi as that great either. Her whole explosion in that episode w/ Kristi was ugly. Jesse was shown as a back-stabbing b*Originally Posted by pleasant1
As for examples from other shows, I didn't watch the whole Survivor series, so I'm not sure how many more examples there are. But a lot of ppl loved Alicia in S2 when she told whiny Kimmi off. Kesse from America's Next Top Model was portrayed as sweet and the show made a point of showing how everyone was especially affected by her leaving. There are, on the otherhand, less-likable characters in that show that happened to also be black. But the show is produced by Tyra Banks and Tyra's company. Tyra Banks herself is black. I really don't think race has anything to do with it. Also singers like Ruben did well from being in AI.
On the otherhand there have also been many Caucasian "villains" in shows. We have Johnny Fairplay, Jerri in S2, we have that bitchy girl next to Zhora in Joe Millionaire, we have Randi and her entire family being made fun of in My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance, Amy and Zack from PH.
Everyone's fair game for editing.

Although the plaster falling on her head wasn't shown, we saw the aftermath.
I could be wrong (I'm going from memory) but it went something like:
1) Camara was on Bill? , he says whoa
2) Camara pans to Omarosa, she is sitting cross-legged touching the back of her head.
If it were a serious injury we'd at the very least see Omarosa with her head in her arms. As it was she was smiling; and when she was touching her head it looked to me like she was trying to make sure she had nothing in her head, not feel for a lump.
In my opinion unless the turn from Bill to Omarosa edited out some time, this injury wasn't a big deal and Omarosa was definatly milking it for all it was worth.
Camera was on the other team:
*Squeel*
Pan to Omarosa bending knees sitting on the floor.
Pan to team talking and her patting her head while smiling and having a bit of a pained expression in her eyes.
Then they show Bill telling us that a little piece of plaster hit Omarosa.
I agree with you on Kwame, he really hasn't shown much except he's a nice guy who doesn't take initiative.Originally Posted by makerc
I don't think Nick has been edited as an incompetent leader. He's shown leading his team to thier two biggest wins. What I do think is he's shown as a bad worker. He doesn't like taking orders and had mailed it in more than once. As hard as I try I can't fault him for being arrogant, even though I don't like it. I think he's just trying to emulate Donald. Unfortunatly he hasn't acomplished anywhere near what he'd need to in life to get away with that kind of attitude.
Heidi is turning it around but she's got a long way to go to catch up with Amy and Troy. More than anyone she's taken the underdog role, or is edited like that.
I agree. I was asking about black women, and not necessarily about men. Although black men seem to mostly get "The Angry Black Man role." I think that Kessie was really in the minority for what I've seen on the show. And I'm really not talking about looking stupid necessarily but seemingly playing out the diva, neck rolling, angry, drama role.Originally Posted by makerc
question: Would you say that alot of these reality shows seem to somehow get at least 1 black woman w/ drama, if so, can you/do you see that as potentially harmful? I mean people can come away thinking all kinds of things from these shows about said persons.
