| Summer - Season 5 ![]() Occupation: Restaurant Owner Hometown: Huntington Beach, CA. Summer, 30, raised in Orange County, California, experienced her family's financial ruin during her teens. Led by her father's example, Summer's work ethic and determination were molded during this trying time. Regardless of her title, Summer vowed to be the best at any occupation. With no education, and often-earning minimum wage, Summer continuously gained the respect of her co-workers and superiors alike. Summer now owns Sunny's Restaurant in Huntington Beach, CA. Located on one of the most traveled streets in the county, the restaurant serves hundreds of locals and tourists daily. Summer thrives on the quality and efficiency of her business and is surrounded by employees who want the restaurant to succeed. Q&A: What was your very first job? In the restaurant business. Who convinced you to try out for The Apprentice and why? Customers at the restaurant I own. They said that because of my personality and work ethic I was sure to have a good chance. What did you quit/leave/sacrifice to join The Apprentice? I own and run a restaurant, which occupies most of my days. Being that we have such a good crew, I trust it all in their hands while I am away. Why do you want to work for Mr. Trump? I have great admiration for him. What have you learned from watching previous seasons of The Apprentice? Have any previous candidates motivated or inspired you? You can be the most intelligent person and have little or no people skills. Your intelligence has been wasted. What's your definition of success? Having a great career along with integrity. How would you describe your leadership style? Working as hard and harder than everyone around you. How do you deal with challenges within a group dynamic? Being in tune with every person's strengths and weaknesses so that each individual can be utilized to their fullest. How do you balance creativity and business? Balance is knowing what aspects in your business need to be consistent day after day, and year after year. Creativity comes in when dealing with market trends. What is your philosophy on business? Work every day like you are going out of business, even when you are not. Your favorite (famous) quote? Float like a butterfly. Sting like a bee. Why should you be the next Apprentice? I am qualified for the job. I have a unique perspective with determination to be the best. | Just like the other gal..how does she KNOW she's qualified for the job without knowing what the job is? Oh, and it's Donald's job to determine qualifications...ain't this what the whole show is about!? ![]() Quote:
Hmmm..not so sure she should follow her father's example. Not sure about this one.. seems like a go-getter, but she also trusts in other people ... which might cost her the Apprentice. The second she trusts her teammates, they'll screw her.

| I'm so glad she was fired. Her attitude reminded me of Markus's from last season. she just brought negative energy but I was hoping Lee may have been fired because he was just annoying and so petty |

| Lee? Lee was great. As for the "negative energy" line of reasoning for firing, I only buy that if someone has been around for a few tasks and has a proven pattern. With a single instance it could (and often is) just an excuse for positioning someone for an easy boot. Of course the big issue with no more Summer is that now the supply of hot women on the show in perilously low! How will this show operate without at least one female candidate who can wear a too tight skirt with aplomb? ![]() The lady certainly wasn't right for this show, but that doesn't change the fact that Mensa guy Tarek was an enormous ass. He got lucky he was in the boardroom with someone who obviously doesn't watch this show a lot and thus actually wouldn't keep her trap shut.

Yeah, I think they got the two confused with each other. They probably thought that Brent was the "quiet guy with the good wardrobe" too. ![]() Hearing her in the post interview, I think Summer meant well and is a decent person. I don't think she was Apprentice-material, though. Her explanation for why she interrupted Trump (while it shows a sentimental heart) shows a real lack of strategic sense and inability to discern what's really going on in a negotiation like the boardroom. [She basically was trying to make sure Trump knew that the bags themselves were gifts -- not just "gift bags," which she considered a misnomer by Tarek to his detriment. She didn't want him fired falsely, for creating a wrong impression of the bags. However, the entire context of George's accusation -- heck, he and Carolyn were THERE and SAW the bags -- showed they knew this all along and it had already been considered. Her sentiment was sweet and well-meant, but showed a lack of real discernment in the proceedings.]
