| Re: Annie Duke - Season 2 I hate that hat lol. On think about Andy Bloch he donates SO much of his poker winnings to charity.. its amazing. 100% of his FTP winnings and largeportions of his tourney and tour winngs as well. Hes not the only poker player that does this.. there are SO many.. and I can say with ease that poker players are some of the most giving people around. Annie was right to want to lead on a fundraising project.. she knew what the people in her would could and would do!

There are also tons of other players who give a good percentage of their money to charity. One player from South Vietnam actually buys food (he said it is amazing how many packages of ramen noodles he can buy--and therefore, feed) with portions of each tournament win. It is amazing to me how much charity work these guys do, and ya know, the sad thing is, it shouldn't be. I don't understand how some people can make so much money and give so little of it away. Is it really necessary for you to be worth umpteen million dollars? Really? That is what bothers me about many of the Hollywood celebs: every now and then you hear about a celebrity giving a little money or being a spokesperson for a particular cause--but not nearly to the extent of a good majority of the poker players who donate all the time! And, these poker players, most of whom have made less than 10 million throughout their entire careers, (whereas a celebrity may pull that as the upfront price tag for one film) are constantly GIVING. Yes, I know there are the few celebs who are pretty active, but there are tons of celebs and only a few who do a lot of charity work. Yet another reason why I think most of Hollywood is full of hypocrites. | |

| Re: Annie Duke - Season 2 Go Annie go! I am wowed by the amount of money that Annie has raised for her charity. Really amazing for someone who I didn't even know existed prior to this Celebrity Apprentice. (and I know that's due to my own card player ignorance) I like Annie's plain spoken, let's get it done attitude. |

| Re: Annie Duke - Season 2 I know, I know. Melissa and Joan acted like baffoons, but I still like and respect them - for things beyond "The Apprentice". Just read Annie Duke's bio. She is a smarty-pants. Columbia for undergrad, U of PA to begin graduate work in psychology (U of PA is right up there with the Harvards and Columbias). |

| Re: Annie Duke - Season 2 That's because apparently Annie doesn't play on her maiden name (their father is also famous, just not for Poker--he's Richard Lederer, a pretty well known linguist, syndicated writer and author of a lot of books). Annie herself, rather than the "white trash" the Rivers twins call her, is apparently a double major in English and Psychology from Columbia, who stopped just short of getting her PhD, in psycholinguistics, because she was making a lot of money playing poker. Of course in Joan's mind, I guess appearing on E! to bitch and moan at people is "classier" than this.
