| Re: 1/17 Show Discussion **spoilers** Color me surprised. I did not think Trump would be willing to fire Gene OR Omarosa, given that they account for nearly all of the drama on the show. I don't care for Gene, but he made the show at least a tad interesting. I have only been watching half-heartedly, I'm not sure I'll bother watching at all now. I have to agree that Gene must have wanted out - he made it nearly impossible for Trump to fire anyone but him. |

| Re: 1/17 Show Discussion **spoilers** I haven't seen the show yet, but even if Gene's performance dipped tonight, I think he clearly was the one who brought in the monies for the charities in the last two tasks... especially the 1st which was an Apprentice "all time high moneymaker"

| Re: 1/17 Show Discussion **spoilers** Geez, Gene Simmons is annoying. I'm a bit surprised that Donald Trump didn't just fire Nely on the spot, or even Gene for that matter. I think he has done that on occasion in the past, right? Though I definitely think it was Gene's fault the women's team lost. Aside from the presentation (which was better than the guys) - they did not grasp the client's (Kodak) vision for the ad. And that was Gene's fault from the get-go, because 1) he didn't bother going to the meeting or let the other women go and 2) he was so intent on the *Kodak world* theme that he didn't care a bit for what Kodak was trying to sell. And honestly, even if he did go to the meeting, he probably wouldn't have agreed with their vision and would have just gone ahead with his plan. So yeah, he was totally responsible... |

| Re: 1/17 Show Discussion **spoilers** The show was horrible but I have to admit I was laughing through most of it. This is the problem with having celebrities. They don't have the drive to really WANT to win. It was too easy for Gene to recognize that he screwed up, wasn't having fun, and wanted out. He has to protect his reputation far more than stay another week on the show. |

| Re: 1/17 Show Discussion **spoilers** I Guess Gene felt he got his money for his charity and now he's outta here!lol. I loved the look on Omarosa's face at his "benevolent dictator" comment. I love Gene he will be missed. |

| Re: 1/17 Show Discussion **spoilers** For all the comments about Gene demonstrating such lust for Ivanka, did anyone notice the length of time the cameras focused on Ivanka's legs, like when she got out of the limo? I think maybe Daddy doesn't care that his daughter is treated like a "skirt". The scenes where Gene was describing his brilliance, against the backdrop of incredulence faces by folks like MadMoney, were hysterical. Possibly also editing, but well done. I mostly agree with the opinion that Gene just wanted out. He raised $20K for Mark Burnett's favorite charity, and wasn't likely to win any more. I'm more disturbed that O wasn't edited as a complete turnip this episode. I thought Gene would be the one to take her down, but he wasn't her match. Now I have to hope one of the other guys is up to it. Did you see O comforting Nely at the beginning of the show when she came up from the boardroom in tears? Fits in with their current chumminess, although I still think O is just a user. Perhaps Nely can't see through that. This season is like a caricature of previous seasons. Not to be taken seriously at all. |

| Re: 1/17 Show Discussion **spoilers** Although it was a boneheaded move not to take Nely into the boardroom, I like that Gene stands behind his ideas. There is a time that you have to admit you screwed up. It was his fault that they lost and he stood by it. Saying he knows more than the clients is very egotistical, but did we expect any less from him? He could have saved his bacon by bringing Nely and he knew it.
