Re: Carol Alt - Model/Actress

What better reason to get involved in a charity than if you have been directly affected by something........

I guess Janice didn't get this bit news...

Quote:
Forever touted as "The model that started the Supermodel trend" by John Casablanca the owner of Elite Models, Carol tosses off that title as the result of necessity being the mother of invention. The necessity of a fourth Elite division of models who worked everyday -- who were career professionals, made Carol the first ever "Super Elite Model in the Super Elite Division." The press thereby dubbing her the first "Supermodel."

Re: Carol Alt - Model/Actress

I only remember Carol Alt because she was married to Ron Greschner. (I'm a long-time Rangers fan. )

In regards to "deserving" charities - if a child dies from an allergic reaction or from AIDS, you still have a grieving family who has suffered an inconsolable loss. All families who have members that are negatively affected by disease or circumstance are deserving of charity and compassion.

Trace Adkins has that peanut butter eating one.
Considering the numbers of children throughout affected by nut allergies, I think that is a great charity for one of these Celebrities to be supporting... but a scholarship fund at a local High School will only touch a few local kids. Really a good phone drive or dinner dance could fill the local coffers.

Nut allergies and peanut allergies actually aren't the same. Apparently only approximately 125 people die a year from Peanut allergies in the U.S. anyway. Yes, that's damn tragic, but some might argue the money might be better spent for cancer or muscle disease research. Or just straight-up feeding hungry people.

But I guess the real point is that we can't create priorities for these people. Or how they interpret what's important. What matters to YOU, what's most relevant to your lives and the people you know usually comes out on top.

I mean take the "Make A Wish" foundation. Some people might harshly judge that spending that money on kids who are going to die anyway is taking money from research that might save other lives. Or even worse, money that could go directly to feed starving people. But for the people involved in "Make A Wish" what they are doing is supremely important.

Re: Carol Alt - Model/Actress

Well said... we can't change what is important to them, or what charity they have already chosen. I just know that I will not be rooting for Carol Alt to win her tasks over another celebrity who could be donating to a charity which will really help a widespread population...Not to say that I don't like Carol, or even that her charity is not a wonderful thing... I just don't think it is one that should be on a show like this... But that is simply my opinion... And well when asked "Who is to judge?" ... I would say each and every one of us is to judge...

Re: Carol Alt - Model/Actress

Please stop thinking Trace Adkins is only about "peanut butter".....its about stopping death due to allergy reaction, a VERY serious issue.

And charity begins at home, ever hear of that?

Re: Carol Alt - Model/Actress

I was not impressed with Carol Alt. Never saw her "acting", but do remember her as a model, and she is still very beautiful. BUT: she didn't pick a great location for them, and her defense in the boardroom was pretty weak. I think she really should have hammered home the fact that Omarosa ruled that they should NOT use their (semi) Celeb status???
