He might do great on Apprentice, but he was apalling in that interview.

I heard this NPR interview and I thought it was particularly interesting because it was the only time I have heard someone question whether this "character" he plays is really him, or if it is just a persona he puts on for the public. I personally think a lot of it is a character his is playing, but he would never admit that - it would be bad business on his part to admit that everything he portrays is false.

I have ended up with mixed feeling about the guy. I was never a Kiss fan (it was just a bit before my time). I find him physically completely unattractive. I think he was a complete jerk (and that is putting it mildly) in that NPR interview. On the other hand I have seen a couple of episodes of his TV show and I don't find him so terrible there. Maybe it's just his family that I like. His wife and daughter are very likable and his son is hilarious!!

He is arrogant and unattractive as well as being a darn good businessman and really good at knowing what he has to do and how to get money...

Either he was too proud to admit his mistake in trusting Nely, and thought he could manipulate Trump into firing one of the others instead.

Or, he simply brought back the 2 who he KNEW Trump would NOT fire and sacrificed himself...because he knew it was HIS fault alone that they lost, and of course too proud to admit it.

OR he was just plain tired of the game - had already gotten his charity a nice donation - and wanted to leave and go on to something else.

He seems to get bored easily with stuff. I wouldn't doubt he just wanted out and he and Trump figured this whole thing out together.

I agree that Gene seems to get bored easily. But I don't think he and Trump were in cahoots on this. I'm disappointed that Gene set himself up to be fired. He had no rationale to bring Omarosa in.

I didn't want to bother to go to the Omorosa thread, but why Trump allowed her to come back is beyond me. Sheesh.

Wouldn't bother me a bit of this is the last "Apprentice".

That's my hunch, too. I mean, it just seems too coincidental that Trump picks Gene to be PM of the women's team, Gene refuses to acknowledge the Kodak product being sold, they lose, and then Gene picks Jennie and O for the boardroom, thus assuring he gets fired. Having received his charity $, he wanted to go and he probably went to Trump with the idea, and Trump helped him with the set up. This is the end of The Apprentice. It's become fake.

You think it's just becoming fake? Whew. What part of this Celebrity Apprentice wasn't scripted first? Maybe it's just that this last boardroom was so poorly acted, but it's all seemed quite fake and scripted to me.

I think Gene sacrificed his time to be there by putting up those two ladies. There's no way he would otherwise just 'throw in the towel' like that. If his music was before your time to really appreciate, or you just don't care for his rock 'n roll style, the fact still remains that he is a music legend. He didn't really need to do this show to attain any more fame. JMO.
