7/31 Top 8 Performance Show Thread Discussion *SPOILERS*

I think the bottom 3 should be: Tyler, Chad and Craig

My thoughts:
Brandon- better than in previous weeks but still not very good.
Craig- pretty good performance, looks better with that hair.
Rob- good, still don't like him for some reason.
Steffi- didn't see why the judges thought it was so good. I didn't think she sang it very well, everything else about it was fine.
Chad- looked like Jacob Hoggard tonight. Not all that good IMO. Like one of the judges (I forget which) said, I think the emotion gets in the way of his singing.
Eva- I thought it was really good.
Tyler- IMO he looked a lot like Rex Goudie, good performance.
Ashley- she's always just been kind of meh to me, nothing special.
So far this season has been very lackluster for me.

Yeah, I don't know what it is, but, he just gets on my nerves. Grates me the wrong way, or whatever you wanna call it. I just don't like him. Has nothing to do with his singing ability or lack of it. Probably the same thing that caused me to dislike Sarah.....just one of those things.

I do think that Brandon should go home but he should have gone home two weeks ago. The fan-girls are very busy on his behalf. Same with Creig...He could probably get up there and sing Row Row Row Your Boat.....(and very badly too), and still not get to the bottom three. Like Zak said last week, that this is not a singing contest or some of the guys would be in the bottom three.

Steffi has been there with Ashley every week. Steffi has proven herself a fighter and very versatile. I am not really a fan of Ashley but she performed well and is also a fighter. She has improved quite a lot from the beginning. (It Shows on her) I did not think she had much of a chance from the start but now

That Tyler really looks different with his hair straightened. I remember what they did for Jenny Gear. She looked great.

Jacob look-alike...did not too bad but should be in the bottom three. Jacob he is Not

I just hope that Steffi is safe, and also gets to find out what it is not to be on the bottom three.

Brandon- He was ok. I just don't dig this kid. He always looks like he has to pee really badly.

Craig- Bette F#$King Midler?? I couldn't get over how much I hate the song to see if I enjoyed the performance. Bette F$%King Middler? I hope he doesn't play hockey, he'll be killed. I was hoping he'd do Tainted Love or the Bronski Beat tune...his voice would match very well. Still dig the voice.

Rob- Valiant effort but I was shocked the judges were so positive.
Steffi- I find it hard to dislike her. Not sure about her singing, very broadway musical but....I really liked it. She should grow her hair, she looked more mature.

Chad- I thought he was going to bury this one top shelf (two hockey analogies...I miss hockey) but he was flat on a few parts and his arrangement cut my favourite bit out...I thought Tyler should have dones this one.

Eva- I think this girl is so incredibly gorgeous that she's going to be on tv...even if she can't act. I've also thought she's quite safe in her song selections almost predictable. And though she's been my odds on favourite to win it all, I thought it was because of a weak season. She blew me away. She had a genuine rock vibe and she was even able to dirty herself up. 2nd best performance in my mind.

Tyler- Like I said...I thought he would have done well with INXS...possibly even Mystify. Second Bon Jovi track...yawn. He did fine though.

Ashley- Along with Rob she has been my least favourite in top ten...but she lasted long enough to change my mind. She's not my favourite but I really thought her performance last night was excellent. I just wish that every time I looked at her I didn't hear Pat Benatar's "You're a Heartbraker, Dream Maker, Love Taker Don't you mess around with me."

Bottom Three:
Rob, Brandon and Craig (don't ever sing Bette Midler again).

if you just read Downsey's post there is no reason for me to post exactly the same thing again.
Brandon is the weakest singer by far but the tween vote will keep him in a while longer. I think Rob will go too.

I am soooo cheering for Rob (see my post about the guy under the Rob James thread), but that rendition of shot through the heart was pretty hard to stomach. I mean I'm cheering for the guy 100%, but I couldn't bring myself to vote for that performance last night.
