Derek Morgan: Garcia? I'll tell you what you are to me. You're my God-given solace. Woman you promise me one thing - whatever happens, don't you ever stop talking to me.
Penelope Garcia: I can't right now 'cause I'm mad at you.
Morgan: I can wait
Dave McGurgan has written a second column on Canadian Idol relative to American Idol, quite complimentary this time. I hope he continues to watch the show and comment. I find his opinions interesting. http://blogs.phillyburbs.com/blog.php?p=5908&cat=39#comment s
Whoa! Have I been in a cave or something? I never heard one peep that Rex and Melissa were a couple. Awww how sweet, but since this is old news--wonder if they are still together?
BTW Thanks Ogopogo for recapping and getting a CI forum. You rock!![]()

Guess you have been, cause CTV and CI and other media have been playing it up big time. There were rumours back even when the CI show was on that they were a pair, and I haven't heard anything to think that they still aren't. They're getting their one hour Mex special on tv next week, he's apparently escorting her to her grad party, they've got some gigs lined up for this summer, so sounds like it's full speed ahead.

Our American friend has posted his review of the second audition show here http://blogs.phillyburbs.com/blog.php?p=6101&cat=39#more-6101. He likes us! He really likes us!
The beauty of Canadian Idol is that the emphasis lies heavily on the singing capabilities of the contestant and not how much they fit into a pre-conceived mold, as is the case on American Idol. And it’s a shame that most of us Americans can’t see what we’re missing, because maybe the Canadians could teach us a thing or two about expanding our cultural horizons.
Here's his review on the third audition show. He's still thinking CI is more interesting than AI. http://blogs.phillyburbs.com/blog.php?p=6142&cat=39watching season four of Canadian Idol brings a refreshing perspective to someone with an American-only view of the Idol franchise.
I really like the fact that they aren't stretching out the audition phase either.
The bad auditions can be entertaining on AI, but there are too many of those shows for my liking and by the time the top 24 starts I just want to hear some good singing.
I've exchanged a few emails with the phillyBurbs.com writer. He seems pretty enthusiastic about covering CI this year. He has even set up a section of his blog specifically for CI, http://canadianidol.phillyburbs.com/.
Also, he put in a request to his boss for a satellite hook up to watch CI in real-time and is trying to obtain tickets to a live show taping.
Dave McGurgan has posted his quick takes on the Top 22. Aside from a few typos (including calling Tyler Lewis "Tyler Davis" and referring to Craig Sharpe as "Chris"), he does seem a bit preoccupied with the weight of several competitors.

Dave McGurgan takes the gloves off in a couple of scathing reviews of the top 22's performances.
