I found it odd that in the last episode after James and Darren kiss, Franklin's jealousy surfaces on display for Andra and James to witness. On tonight's episode as Wes tells of his date with James to Franklin and Brian, it's Brian who's jealous (and the leading man doesn't even see it). Strange that Franklin seemed to cheer on Wes giving him accolades for a successful date even telling Wes "good for you." Was Franklin's jealousy purely for show for Andra and James to witness? Hmm

    My bet:
    Franklin's jealousy - acting
    Brian's jealousy - sincere

I've said this elsewhere: I think that Franklin's jealousy was sincere, but for a different reason. It's my thesis that Franklin believed that Darren was straight and that he was going further than Franklin had for the money, and THAT's why he was jealous. Same effect, but different cause.

    Just my opinion.

    Wes

Ok, i've gotta chime in on this. I'm predicting that Wes is straight too. Let's face it, he's just too gay. The clothes, shoes, haircut, etc...it's like he's been coached to be the stereotypical gay man. I think Franklin's too obvious a choice. I agree there has been more manipulation by the producers than we will ever know but i'm wondering that twist is revealed next week and hopefully it's something that James has done to skew the field. I'd love to see him throw a twist into the game.

I'm still going with Franklin as the ringer.

Okay, I'll consider that but if Franklin was sure Wes was not straight, and he sincerely cheered on Wes for a wonderful date with James, Franklin would still lose the loot if James picked Wes.

I really like WES. I've wrestled with a moral issue for some
time now and have never quite resolved it, and this is the
problem of the quality of exhibiting self-esteem against the
character flaw of being prideful. WES seems to me to be
conceited. But, damn, he has good reason to be: very
attractive, obviously smart, very animated facial expressions,
and as a "political activist" and "fundraiser for non-profit org"
he seems to have his head screwed on right. He exudes
confidence. I liked when JAMES asked him if he was surprised
he had survived all the eliminations. He said no, because he
felt a connection. When JAMES asked him to detail the
break-up with an ex-boyfriend, he said [I don't want to do that].
Good for him. That shows self confidence and an unwillingness
to grovel or brown-nose. Don't know if everyone caught this, but
it was humorous when WES said he didn't want to give his ex
the air time, as it would swell his (ex's) head. UGO BOYEE!
Another thing that was hard to understand, had to re-wind
several times: WES asked JAMES for one of his secrets
(turn-about is fair play!) and JAMES said that he generally does
not wear his heart on his sleeve, as in the work-place. WES
then asked, "well, what about in a relationship." JAMES also
revealed to WES as they were viewing the panarama of the
valley, that he knew he'd get hurt at the end (of the game, and
due to the "twist"). WES looked at him like "you poor baby."
That was a rather fatalistic thing to say, but of course JAMES
was playing on WES' sympathy in the event he is the "straightie."
I think JAMES and WES' date was the best.
Their holding hands at the end, and then the kiss...it was
probably the most passionate kiss that I've seen between the
guys (sorry, refuse to call them "mates" - ug). In the end I do
    not trust WES. KEN

Wes can do no wrong in my shallow mind. I hope he gets picked.

Real Ken, IMO, Wes did have the best dates with James. There didn't seem to be any uncomfortable times or "dead air". Wes seems very self assured and kind of lead the discussions. I like Wes and hope he didn't win because it seemed that James picked a straight guy and I wouldn't want to think of Wes as such a phony. Plus, if Wes is gay and wasn't chosen, then who knows if there is still a chance for them in the future?
