I liked book 17 but then again I am team Ranger. Regarding the movie. I always picture The Rock as my Ranger. Dangerous and Sexy all at the same time, lol.

I think Daniel Sunjata can pull off Ranger after watching him on Rescue Me. I would prefer he be a bit more smoldering though! IMO Dwayne Johnson doesn't fit - too bulked up - at least from what I get when I read Ranger's description. I always picture the parents that were in My Big Fat Greek Wedding as Steph's parents - have they said who has been cast for those roles? I agree with who mentioned Estelle Getty - she's who's in my head!!

I've already seen a poster for the movie (as I recall it is due out in February) so i think filming is complete. The list of actors would be on imdb I think. Isn't Estelle Getty dead?

Estelle Getty has been dead for years.
Debbie Reynolds is playing the role of Grandma Mazur.

I still think the little old lady who paid Adam Sandler in meatballs in The Wedding Singer would be the perfect Grandma Mazur.

Oh, hadn't even thought of her. She sure would have been perfect, also. She had that right amount of sass needed for the character.
She's even older than Betty White and Debbie, though, so maybe that's why she did not get it?

The trailer is out...you can find it on youtube. It looks pretty funny. They show the scene where Joe handcuffs her to the shower. I'm really not sure about Grandma Mazur...Debbie is too 'put together'...But Jason M as Morelli fits pretty well, I think.

It actually looks not bad. My big objections are the actors playing Morelli (not dark enough) and Ranger (too cute). I think Debbie Reynolds is ok, Katherine Heigl seemed good (though the accent may bug) and I liked Lula.

I've been dreading this movie since they cast Katherine Heigel for the part of Stephanie. I was pleasantly surprised by the trailer, it doesn't look too bad. Still won't be paying to see it in a theater though.
