Oh Good Lord.... Janet Evanovich has just posted on her Facebook fan page that Variety magazine is reporting that Sherri Shepherd has been cast as Lula.

And that does it. I will not be watching this, the casting and producers have completely stomped all over the book. I think they didn't even bother reading it and are just casting whomever they think the viewers will watch with absolutely no regard to the characters in the book.

Bah! Way to destroy my favorite character who I sort of saw as Queen Latifah-ish.

If I were the author, I'd remove myself from this as quickly as possible and make it very clear that I had sold all the rights and have absolutely nothing to do with this movie.

KH with the brown hair and shot on location (I think?....would Stephanie wear a blue jean jacket vest and sloppy ponytail? I can't remember but it doesn't seem like her, makes me think of the mom in Glee instead.)

I really don't see her as playing Lula at all.

Yes, Star is a lawyer, and now too thin to be L. Sherri at least is physically possible, but she'll have to be a better actress than I'd expect.
I think SP might dress like that for work, And put her hair UP in a pony tail, not back. What she'd never leave the house without is her mascara!

No, both Star and Sheri were on the View and lost weight, Sheri's body just looks weird, no hips and too top heavy.

After seeing Precious, I think either Mo'nique or Gabrielle Sidouby would have been great as Lula.

I like Sheri, but I just don't see her as Lula at all.
