    Great Beach Books

I'm leaving for a beach trip next week. Does anyone have any suggestions for books that are good summer/beach reads? I don't want something too heavy, just a nice, fun, light read.

Last summer I took "Four Blondes" by Candace Bushnell. I also took "You: On a Diet" from Dr. Oz. I apparently didn't get into either enough because I didn't finish either of them. I read a little bit of each and then went straight back to my Cosmo mag.

I've seen that Meg Cabot and Jennifer Weiner are on summer book lists when I googled.

    Any other suggestions?

I would suggest books by Kristen Hannah, like Firefly Lane. See recent posts in What are you reading thread for more ideas.

I spent a summer vacation reading The Other Boleyn Girl, if you haven't read that.

I enjoy Dorothea Benton Frank. She writes about the islands off the coast of South Carolina so you can read a good story that takes place on the beach while at the beach.

My absolute favourite for light reading is Maeve Binchy.

Any of the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich. They are light hearted, wacky and lot's of fun.

AJane and myrosiedog, I was just coming on in here to profess my love for Maeve Binchy. I've not read her latest though.
