A girl called Zippy...very odd but funny book about growing up poor in the rural midwest.
I could go east, I could go west, it was all up to me to decide. Just then I saw a young hawk flyin' and my soul began to rise. ~Bob Seger

I have to agree with Firegirl, "The Lovely Bones" was an excellent novel.

These are not terribly recent, but great reads. "All Over But The Shoutin", and "Ava's Man", both by Rick Bragg. Non-fiction. He won the Pulitzer, and tells the stories of his life and that of his family in a way that will have you laughing and crying. I just could not put them down.

I'm currently reading "The sun also rises" for the 3rd time, it's by Ernest Hemingway and I just love that book, it's my favorite.

The only book I've read on this entire page is The Reader, and I didn't like it very much.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

I finished "One Door Away From Heaven" by Dean Koontz last night. I think it was incredible! It's different for him, and has a little bit of everything. I've read almost all of his books I think, and this is my favorite so far.
