Anticipated book releases of 2008

New year, new books to look forward to. This year looks particularly promising in the literary department, but then again, I tend to say that every year. In any case, here's a little list of the book releases I'm looking forward to in 2008. Feel free to add books at any time.

22 January: Duma Key by Stephen King
1 April - aka THE date to look forward to, at least in my world: The Sorrows of an American by geek the girl fave Siri Hustvedt, a new short story collection entitled Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri, and literary biopic/homage Wild Nights!: Stories About the Last Days of Poe, Dickinson, Twain, James, and Hemingway by the inexhaustible Joyce Carol Oates are all published on the same day. Hmm, I wonder which one I'll read first?
8 April: Jennifer Weiner's Certain Girls, a sequel to Good in Bed.
17 June: This Charming Man (ooh, Smiths alert!) by Marian Keyes

The fourth Bella and Edward novel, Breaking Dawn, is coming out in August, but I'm sure you all already knew that.

I am looking forward to Stephenie Meyers continuation of the Twilight series with Breaking Dawn still tentatively set to be released in the fall of 2008.

Her most recent book "The Host" now has an official on-sale date of May 6, 2008! Yay! Stephenie (our own FORT author)! I will buy whatever she publishes because I enjoy her style and storyline (but it doesn't hurt that she is a FORT member).

An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon which is not expected out until 2009.

The Appeal by John Grisham (really hope its better than his last few)

Miss Julia Paints the Town, by Ann B. Ross

Just a few I'm looking forward to.

I'd also like to see another David McCulollough book come out soon. Love his stuff

Joy Fielding, Bertrice Small and Emily Giffin have new books coming out this year. I'm going to buy them when they come out in papeback.

I just read a synopsis of Stephen Kings Duma Key.

I can't wait to read this now. My husband worked on Casey Key just down from King's house there and used to see him driving by. The book contains a lot of references to both Casey Key and nearby Sarasota which was part of my old stomping grounds. So should be a very interesting read in that aspect for me.
BTW, King's house there has some "interesting" items on the porch and in the front entryway. There is a huge statue on the porch reminiscent of the Clown in "It" and there are two huge curved elephant tusks in the large bay window.
I've driven by his house many times, but unfortunately never saw him.

myrosiedog, I'm reading the final pages of Duma Key right now. Definitely one of King's best in recent years. Let me know how you like it!

Is this book from her Outlander series? Oh, I hope so!! I love that series and it seems like you have to wait forever for a new book in the series!
