3 books you'd take to a deserted island

Right Ho Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse
The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood
The Outline of History by H. G. Wells

I would not want to take anything that I hadn't read before. Otherwise, I am likely to pick a book that I find unreadable after a couple of dozen pages and I'd be in serious trouble.
Right Ho Jeeves was an obvious choice since it is my favourite book and always makes me laugh. I don't know if I would still be laughing if I had to read it every day. I hope so.
I would choose the Robber Bride because Charis is my favourite fictional character and I would want to have her on the island with me.
The third book was a really tough choice. I thought of choosing something for its length such as Islandia by Austin Tappan Wright or an Art History book. In the end I choose the Outline of History because of the depth of it. The history of the world from prehistoric times to the end of the first world war covers a lot of subjects and cultures.

I almost chose Vanity Fair too, but I'd ruin the book by ripping out the pages that are devoted to proper grammar. Who needs grammar when you're stranded on an island? And I'm also afraid that my fondness for the book is a bit of vanity on my part, since my birth name is the same as the heroine (or villain, depending on your take), so I might not like it as much if I had to read it over and over. So...

I loved Ender's Game! I had completely forgotten about that book. I'll have to dust it off and re-read it.

The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath
The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky
The Virgin Suicides - Jeffrey Eugenides

I'd take three books that I would like to read, that I probably never would otherwise

1. Remembrance of Things Past
2. War and Peace
3. Moby Dick

Well if I could take a series that is put into one book.

1. Harry Potter- nice world to escape into if only one then maybe the last one if I hadn't read it yet?
2. Any Jane Austen
3. Bible

I too would need to combine some books.

1) Lord of the Rings trilogy
2) The complete works of Agatha Christie (can't pick just one)
3) Bible (I've read parts but have never made time to read the whole thing ... always mean to, though)

Ideally, I'd be able to combine some books as well, but I'll try to pick one from the categories I'm about to list, in reverse order of importance:

1) A chick lit anthology of some sort, probably Sophie Kinsella or Jane Green. If I'm picking one, well, toughy, but Mr. Maybe, by Jane Green. Sometimes I just need fluff.

2) The Harry Potter series, and if I'm picking one, probably book 6 but maybe book 4

3) Everything Peter Mayle ever wrote. If I'm picking one here, probably A Year In Provence, but I'm not entirely sure. If you've been to Provence, I wholeheartedly recommend these books. They're funny and yet very well written.

The Historian and A Prayer For Owen Meany-- great choices as well

Hmm, ruling out stuff to help me actually get off the island, lol, and things I've already read-

The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
A copy of the complete works of Shakespeare - Read some of his stuff of course, but not as much as I'd like
Les Miserables

1. Kalki - Gore Vidal
2. To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
3. Sophie's Choice - William Styron

I couldn't really decide between To Kill a Mockingbird and The Catcher in the Rye (JD Salinger). :mmm
