Anyone good at writing fairytales?

I need to write a fairytale for a school assignment. I need to adapt the book Sex and the City into a fairytale. The book is very similar to the t.v. show.

I want to base it around a girl who is being forced to get married but wants to remain single. Kind of like a feminist kind of fairytale.

Does anyone think they can help me out?

This may be a stupid question, but if your school assignment is to write this fairytale, shouldn't you be the one to write it?
