I also read it and loved it. Very well-written and a touching story, too. This one, along withWhite Oleander and We Were The Mulvaneys made me realize that Oprah does have good taste in books. Has she written anything since? (Anne Marie MacDonald, that is, not Oprah )

I did some googling and, apparently, MacDonald has a new(ish) novel out - The Way the Crow Flies. It takes place in Canadia during the 1960's and has gotten great reviews overall on Amazon. I'll make sure to check it out.

I'm reading it now. Almost halfway through it. So far, I'm liking this book.

I read this a few years back and thought it was very good, but I haven't read her most recent one. I know it's based on Stephen Truscott, and I had enough of that story, so it doesn't really interest me.
