Any chick lit type fans out there?

I was wondering if anyone else out there like Chick Lit? We could start a little book club thingie or we could just talk about whatever book we're currently reading, anyone up for it?

    Hi, Dolliemaria. to the FoRT.

What do you have in mind by chick lit? If it's light and funny I love those books. Helen Fielding, Sophie Kinsella, that sort of thing?

Yeah I meant those kinds of books I just picked up Trading Up by Candace Bushnell, although I have a few others to read before I get to it

Ooh, me, me! I try to alternate my chick lit with my "serious" reading. I love an easy book I can just fly through and be entertained. I love Sophie Kinsella, Marian Keyes (especially Last Chance Saloon), and Jane Green (Jemima J). Seems like I like all those books about neurotic, overweight British women who love to shop and fall in love with men.

They may not require much brain power, but I love them for what they are.
"The fact is, sometimes its hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then- to make the walk a little more fun."

Yes I loved Last Chance Saloon and Jemima J.. Have you read any of Jane Green's Other ones (The author of Jemima J)? They're pretty good...

I just adore Sophie Kinsella's books. I also have to alternate between chic lit and serious books because otherwise, I feel a little dumb.

pinkieparrot, life is too short to feel dumb! I made up my mind about 10 years ago to read what I want to, and not to feel obligated to read what the critics tell me to.

I love Jennifer Crusie. Her books are a wonderful light read.
