Not to date myself (too late), but I loved reading the Bobbsie Twins and Nancy Drew books. I was also really into Grimm's Fairy Tales. There was a series of books that were fictional accounts of how other kids lived that I liked too. I don't remember who wrote them, but they had titles like Strawberry Girl (a migrant family) and Frontier Boy (a family travelling to settle out west). I really don't remember ever reading picture books my self as a child, but my kids loved all of the Seuss books and Madelaine books.

i also loved "charlie and the chocolate factory" and even read "charlie and the great glass elevator" though i wasn't nearly as impressed. other faves of mine that i read many times included "the secret garden" and "a little princess." i loved the chapter of little princess called "the magic" where she wakes up to all the food and silk and robes and stuff in her attic room!!

Oh, I love children's books! You're right, they do bring back a lot of memories. You'd be surprised--if things are going lousy for you, curl up with a favorite book from your childhood--it's great therapy!

My favorite children's books were the Dr. Seuss books and Rainbow Fish. I still pull them our once in a while for a quick skimming.

Man, my mom has Trixie Belden books back from when she was a kid, and I recently read them all. They're very cute books. Some other books I loved as a kid - Frog and Toad, Dr Suess anything, Berestien Bears (they were the best!!!) um... aw geez I can't think of them right now. But as a kid I read every single day and I still do
