I love Joe Hill. I wish he would write & publish at the same speed his dad does. I check his website every so often to see when we can expect something new.

    Re: What are you reading?

I really just started reading again a few months ago (it a been many many years since I did before!). After turning 50 and doing the "Fifty Shades" series just because I had to see what the fuss is about, a friend started me on the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon. I just finished the 6th book of the series, and have the 7th to start. But before that though I would come on here and see what else people are reading that I might find good!

I've turned into my teenage daughter though who stays up late and hides in her closet to read (there are worse things I guess!).

maxkl Glad you are back to reading again. There are always plenty of good recommendations with a wide variety of books for you to choose from on FoRT.

I'm reading the Beautiful Creatures series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I've read the first book Beautiful Creatures and now I'm reading the second book, Beautiful Darkness. I'm enjoying them.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to post here. I just added several books to our Kindle account on the request of my pilot daughter who has a lot of down time for reading as she waits for flights or is stranded flying stand-by.

I enjoyed Pines by Blake Crouch that I went looking for more books by him. I've read Run and just finished Eerie. I liked Run much better but Eerie was ok. Not sure which one I'm going to read next.

    Re: What are you reading?

I just finished The Love Wars by L. Alison Heller. Sort of a Devil Wears Prada in a law firm, only a little less fluffy.

Now I'm re-reading Steve Martin's An Object of Beauty, the story of the rise of a young and VERY ambitious (some might say cut-throat) woman through the NY art world. I read a galley a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, because the book has images of art throughout and the galley didn't have the images, I felt like I missed out on the whole experience. I knew some of the pieces without having to look them up and knew the artists' work, if not the specific piece, but it will be nice to read the book without having to Google!

I enjoyed that one a lot, but not as much as another book of his, The Pleasure of my Company.

I am reading Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. It is quite a story about carnivorous water horses who come out of the ocean and an annual horse race that results in the death of many of the racers. It is a YA novel that has the action and violence of The Hunger Games. There is a movie coming out in 2015. Have any of you read it? I realize my description is somewhat dreary, but this book would be great for those who love horses or enjoy an interesting romance on a magical island.

    Re: What are you reading?

Just finished Gone Girl. My daughter must have already read it, because (shared Kindle account) there are already underlined passages. Interesting to see what another person choses to underline.
    Count your blessings!
