| Re: What are you reading? Bright Shiny Morning by James Frey. Fiction agrees with him, and I'm loving the fact that in spite of all the Raymond Carver-esque portrays of people struggling to get by in Los Angeles, the real main character is really LA itself. Great stuff. I'm hoping that people can look beyond the Million Little Pieces debaucle and see Bright Shiny Morning for what it is: an exceptional, touching, and well-written novel. The guy deserves a second chance. Not sure that Oprah would agree with me, though.

| Re: What are you reading? Until I Find You, by John Irving. I'm about halfway through, and loving it so far. It reminds me of The World According to Garp. |

| Re: What are you reading? London, by Edward Rutherfurd. Looks like I'll have a lot more good reading material in my future, too... just moved to Auburn recently, and wandered over to the University library which is an easy walk from where we're living; yowza, I'm in heaven with that there. ![]() |

| Re: What are you reading? I just started re-reading War and Peace. I read it about ten years ago and felt like it was time again. I'm already remembering how much I love Tolstoy. Pakacat - how's London coming? I may have to re-read Sarum soon - that's still my favorite of Rutherfurd's epics.

| Re: What are you reading? I'm about halfway through Tin Roof Blowdown by James Lee Burke. I always enjoy his Dave Robicheaux books, but this one is especially interesting. It takes place in New Orleans/Louisiana during and after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. It's making me very sad, thinking about all the stuff that was ruined and will never be fixed, and all the people who left and won't ever be back. |
