I'm also reading Twilight and finding it quite enjoyable... I'm immersed in the world of Forks already. I got one of the last two copies at my local Barnes and Noble.

Well, since she's a member at FORT, I'll just go and pick up a copy... Yes, once I heard she was a FORTer, I went to check out her site.

Heehee, she said we're the nicest people! (Well, not me, I'm a freak.)

Must support fellow Forters. Just flipped over to Amazon - Twilight looks like a good read. Love the cover with the hands holding the apple. Going to have to remember to pick up a copy.
If you type "google" into google you can break the internet.

Yes, I'm pretty sure another is being edited right now, and one more in the works after that.

I heard some FORTer's had a say in the selection of that cover!

The Fifth Woman by Henning Mankell
It's another Kurt Wallander mystery. There's just something about the systematic way the mysteries are solved in Mankell's books that I find appealling. It's like a 400 page logic puzzle.
This one starts with the murder of nuns in Africa. The connection with that to the rest of the story has not yet been shown at the part of the book that I am now. The case that Wallander investigates starts with is a retired car dealer and bird watcher who is found inpaled on bamboo poles in the ditch behind his secluded home.

I got Twilight this morning. Almost done the first chapter, I'm LOVING it! (Hm, I have a suspicion it was mrdobolina who designed the cover... Unless I''m getting paranoid. )

Since I have NO money right now, I'll just have to envy the rest of you who can buy Twilight! Maybe the student loan fairy will bless me and I can splurge a little! I'm dying to read it

I watched the latest adaptation of Mansfield Park last night - the one starring Frances O'Connor, Embeth Davitz, Jonny Lee Miller (the first ex-Mr. Angelina Jolie ... she's a fool!) and James Purefoy (Marc Antony on my beloved Rome). Although it wasn't totally faithful to the original, it made me want to pull my copy out for yet another read. I just never get bored with Austen
Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' - Isaac Asimov

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
