Yes, they don't have it either. I agree, free is good! But my library card ran out and I'd have to pay $25 to get it renewed. Then they could order it, blah, blah, blah. I'd rather just buy the book than pay the money because our library never has anything I want to read. If they do have it, they only have one copy and someone has already checked it out.:rolleyes

There are plenty of copies available at my library and I put a hold on it.

I'm not sure though that I like the subject matter and that's why I stayed away from "The Lovely Bones" until now.

OMG! I love your choice of the book because I'm doing it for my English Literature class too.

Good pick. Now I can kill two birds with one stone.

I felt the same way, and when I listened to it the first section was very difficult to get through for this reason. I listen to a lot of books on tape (I spend at least an hour in my car daily), and avoid any type of crime story because they are upsetting for me.
However, this story had enough that didn't focus on the crime that it was enjoyable. That first couple of chapters was very tough to get through, though.

Eldee, the secret knock is to read the book. The more the merrier, although this should be an interesting discussion with hazy already saying that he has his arguments ready, and there being a long list of readers too. Should be great fun though.

    July 10th everyone! Cheers!
