PWS, nice work! You really went above and beyond. Interesting how sharp Rudy's trajectory has remained (and also how Daniel has one decent week and one awful one, in cycles).

Re: Playing with the numbers TBL 8
Thanks! Oh, and I left out a step in case anyone else tries it... create in Excel, copy the graph to Word, and then create the pdf... I don't know if the Word step is necessary, that's just what I did.

It was interesting even looking at the numbers....Amanda, for example has lost almost exactly 2% every week, while Rudy is usually at about 3%. Assuming they could keep it up, how many weeks would it take them to reach the magic 55%? For Amanda, 27.5 weeks, for Rudy 18.5 weeks... so it really matters when the season started and when the finale is .... Rudy could do it in less than 5 months while it would take Amanda nearly 7, more or less. Of course I doubt either of them can keep up that rate near the end, or when they leave the ranch, but still... interesting.

Re: Playing with the numbers TBL 8
Looks like we may have a male winner this season....it may be too early to tell but I don't see any of the females left actually beating Rudy or Danny. I could be wrong. BUT I actually want Rudy or Danny to win....

Rudy 6’4”, 442, 50% goal=221, 55% goal=198.9, lbs. to 55%=54.1; currently: 253 (42.7602%)

Danny 5’ 11”, 430, 50% goal=215, 55% goal=193.5, lbs. to 55%=35.5; currently: 229 (46.7442%)

Liz 5’7”, 267, 50% goal=133.5, 55% goal=120.15, lbs. to 55%=61.5; currently: 182 (31.8352%)

Amanda 5’ 6”, 250, 50% goal=125, 55% goal=112.5, lbs. to 55%=57.5; currently: 170 (32%)

This is really Danny's to lose at this point....he can even, healthwise, go quite a few pounds beyond 55% and at the rate he's going he could easily--184 is the high end of normal for his height and that's about 10 lbs. less than his 55% weight. Rudy has nearly 20 more pounds to lose to get to 55%, and since he's 5 inches taller he's going to be well into the "normal" range by then. Rudy really slowed down when he left the ranch, and Danny not so much, since he still seems to have been losing 6 or 7 lbs. a week.

Liz and Amanda would each have to lose even more than Rudy to get to 55%, and for both of them that would be a very low weight, so hard to do. I think they will both be looking good at the final, but they won't win.

Now someone needs to plug in the data from the recently departed...have to get back to the work I get paid for!

Re: Playing with the numbers TBL 8
WOW, PWS!!! Looking at your percentages at the beginning, who'd have guessed that Danny and Rudy would be right there at the end. And 55% was exactly where it ended up, wasn't it? But that 55% meant breaking records for most pounds lost. Wow!!!! Congratulations to both Danny and Rudy for beating the odds!

Re: Playing with the numbers TBL 8
Well, just shows you the dangers of generalizing from the past--I guess next season I'd have to say that the only people I can rule out are men who need to lose over 250 to make the 55% cut off! And Shay has raised the bar for poiunds a woman can lose as well. And I worry if we won't have people aiming for 60% weight loss!

So I think we finally figured out the season was 7 months long...so roughly 35 weeks. If you divide 55%/35 weeks you need to lose a little more than 1 and a half % of your original weight a week to get there. For 60% more like 1 and 3/4 of your original weight a week. So let's see, if you start at 400 lbs. you need to average 6 or 7 lbs. every week.... to get to 55% and more like 7 lbs. every week to get to 60%.
OK, ready for the next season! :)
Now if Missyboxers can put up the final numbers.... :)
