I was torn about who should go home - the mother or the daughter. At first I was hoping that the daughter stayed given that she has her life ahead of her and could really use a change.

Then, I started thinking that it is better that the mom remains. As in most families, the parent sets the tone for the children, and that is clearly happening here. I'm not normally a Jillian fan, but maybe she can break her down so she is less angry, defensive, and closed-off. If that happens, it will rub off on the daughter and both will benefit.

This would be a win-win, so I think this was the best decision.
