'LOSER' IS THE HOUR'S TOP NON-SPORTS CHOICE, TRAILING ONLY THE WORLD SERIES IN 18-49

BURBANK, Calif. - October 27, 2004 - In its second week, the new unscripted series "The Biggest Loser" again posted hefty double-digit gains versus NBC's season average for the time period, according to "fast affiliate-based" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

"The Biggest Loser' from 8-9 p.m. ET (3.6 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49, 9.0 million viewers overall) generated a whopping 44 percent increase in adults 18-49 versus NBC's season average for the time period prior to "Loser's" arrival (a 2.5). "Loser" was the top non-sports choice for the hour in adults 18-49, trailing only game three of the World Series (pending updates).

Despite exceptional competition from Fox's World Series and ABC's perennial "Great Pumpkin" special, "Biggest Loser" all but matched the 3.7 rating it delivered in the 8-9 p.m. time period in its debut last week and improved on the week-earlier total viewer result of 8.9 million persons (Note: the full 90-minute "Loser" premiere on Oct. 19 from 8-9:30 p.m. averaged a 4.1 in 18-49 and 9.9 million viewers overall). From its first half-hour to its second, last night's "Biggest Loser" gained 32 percent among adults 18-49 (to a 4.1 from a 3.1).
