Well faithful Biggest Loser fans, it's the night we've all been waiting for. It's the843 hour finale of thistoo longsuper-sized season! If you can't sit through the entire show, or if you just have a life unlike me, you've come to the right place. I am sitting through the entire finale just for your reading pleasure. I will admit that isn't my only reason for subjecting myself to this cruel and unusual punishment. I kind of want to see what Mikey looks like now *girly giggle*. And of course the “will she/won't she” of Jillian wearing high heels is just too exciting to miss out on! On with the marathon!
The show begins with four former contestants appearing in the shadows on stage. Who are these thin and trim former Losers that kept the weight off? Pete from 4 years ago, Juli from 3 years ago, Bernie from 2 years ago (cutie pie alert!), and last season's winner, Michelle. Hmm. Okay then, that was short and sweet. Ali takes the stage looking blonde and perky as usual. Guess what we are going to start tonight off with? Ding ding ding! That's right! A memory clip montage! I think we've seen these clips for about the past 3 episodes now, but hey, why not see them again? We've got 3 hours! At least I got to see one of my favorite moments from the season... Bob: “What the $&^#, Joelle?!” Cracks me up every time.
After our little trip down memory lane, Ali wastes no time spilling the beans about who America voted in as the third finalist. Helen and Tara earned themselves spots in the Final 3, but it was up to us to vote either Mike or Ron into that third and final spot. Who did America choose? Wait! Before we find out, we get to see what both of them look like now. Mike comes out first, breaking through the paper of his former self. Yeoooooooowza. He looks super super amazing. *giggle* I'm sorry folks. I know it's wrong of me to ogle an 18 year old, but drooooool. What a hottie! On the other end of the attractiveness spectrum, it's time to bring out Ron. He comes out looking pretty decent. I can tell he's definitely lost weight since leaving the ranch. Soooo anyway, back to Mike... haha KIDDING. Ron says he feels great, wonderful, amazing, etc etc. Ron hopes that America voted Mikey in, but he says they are both winners. Aww. *barf* Finally it's time to find out the results of America's vote! After millions of votes, America chose... MIKE!! Hooray! I knew I loved America!! Mikey for the win!
After the announcement of America's vote for the third finalist, we find out that America once again has the power to affect the game. We get to vote for the final person to make the cast of next season's show. America will be able to vote throughout the finale and the winner will be announced live. The first choice is a 239lb girl named Erin from THE Ohio State University. Booo... I don't like her already *cough*We Are Penn State!*cough* She broke up with her boyfriend of 2 years because she didn't want him touching her body. Both Erin and her mother are overweight. The second choice is 257lb Amanda, a 19 year old girl from New Jersey. She wants to go out and have fun, but she feels like her weight is holding her back. Hmm. I think Erin's argument was more convincing, even if she is from Ohio State. Bob and Jillian pop up on the monitor from the gym that just happens to be backstage. Guess what ladies? You are going to work out with Bob and Jillian right away. I guess that is going to help us know which of them to choose? Alrighty then!
It's time to see the eliminated contestants once again and see who is going to win the $100,000 at home prize! The first couple out is Jerry and Estella, the oldest couple ever to be on the show. Estella looks awesome and Jerry looks even better. Wow. I can't get over those two. They look 10 years younger at least. Jerry looks like a different person. Way to go. Next out is Damien and Nicole. Damien looks good, but Nicole is definitely a knockout. PS- There's a guy in the crowd with a sign that reads, “We are cousins to the oldest Biggest Looser”. That's nice and all, but you might want to check the spelling of “Loser” before you put it on a sign in front of America. Anywho. Nicole is going to be able to wear a size 8 wedding dress at her wedding.
Oh, and in case you care, America has pledged almost 3 million pounds in the Pound for Pound challenge.
Let's check on the ladies who are competing to be on the show next season. Bob has Erin doing steps and Jillian has Amanda on the treadmill. Estella, Jerry, Nicole, and Damien are changed and ready to weigh-in. How did they do? Let's find out!
Estella: Starting weight 242/Current weight 159 (-83) -34.30%
Jerry: Starting weight 369/Current weight 192 (-177) -47.97%
Holy cow! Go Jerry!
Damien: Starting weight 381/Current weight 245 (-136) -35.70%
Nicole: Starting weight 269/Current weight 146 (-123) -45.72%
Jerry is in the lead.
The next round of eliminated contestants are ready to take the stage. Sione comes out first. He looks great. Filipe follows, and still looks like good ol' Filipe. They both look sharp. Carla and Joelle come out next. They look beautiful, but it's apparent that they didn't lose as much weight as some of the other contestants. Filipe and Sione do a Tongan dance while the crowd roars. After a quick change of clothes, they are ready to weigh in.
Sione: Starting weight 372/Current weight 226 (-146) -39.25%
Filipe: Starting weight 364/Current weight 229 (-135) -37.09%
Carla: Starting weight 379/Current weight 251 (-128) -33.77%
Joelle: Starting weight 309/Current weight 229 (-80) -25.89%
Jerry is still in the lead. Yes, that's right folks. The 64 year old man is kicking everyone's asses.
The next team to come out on stage is none other than the Bluesome Twosome of Dane and Blaine. Blaine is definitely a looker. Heeeey buddy. Dane doesn't look so bad either. Mandi and Aubrey are out next. Mandi looks stunning in a very pretty yellow dress. She looks good. Aubrey looks like she lost a little weight, but not as much as Mandi. Apparently Dane and Blaine have been running marathons and competing in Iron Man competitions. Aubrey jokes that she has maintained her weight, but losing more is a different story. As we wait for these contestants to change their clothes, we check in on the ladies competing for a spot on the next season. They are red in the face and still working hard. Can anyone beat Jerry? It's time for more weigh-ins!
Blaine: Starting weight 365/Current weight 249 (-116) -31.78%
Dane: Starting weight 412/Current weight 258 (-154) -37.38%
Mandi: Starting weight 263/Current weight 171 (-92) -34.98%
Aubrey: Starting weight 249/Current weight 194 (-55) -22.09%
Old man Jerry is STILL in the lead!
Here comes the next group! Cathy and Kristin strut out on stage. Cathy looks beautiful. Kristin... uhhh... did someone spill bleach on her head? Her hair is bleached blonde! Billy Idol called. He wants his hair back. She looks like she really lost a lot of weight too! Next out it's Daniel and David. Man, I forgot about them. David is still pretty big and doesn't appear to have lost much weight at all. Danielle is noticeably smaller and looks like he has a ton of energy. Wow, I can't get over Kristin. She looks so different. Her mom looks way younger too. Let's see what the scale has to say!
Cathy: Starting weight 293/Current weight 198 (-95) -32.42%
Kristin: Starting weight 360/Current weight 193 (-167) -46.39%
Oh my goodness!!! You go girl!!! Kristin is close, but still can't take the lead away from Jerry.
David: Starting weight 393/Current weight 350 (-43) -10.94%
David admits to struggling and having some bad days when it comes to his diet.
Daniel: Starting weight 454/Current weight 312 (-142) -31.28%
Jerry is still in the lead.
The last 3 at-home contestants are ready to take the stage and face the scale. First out is Laura. I have really come to heart Laura. She looks great with the dark hair and has a super cute black dress on! She is truly gorgeous. Shanon is next. Aside from the stripper heels and 80s hair, she looks like she lost a bit of weight. Finally, Ron the Don comes back out. They are ready for their shot at the scale!
Laura: Starting weight 285/Current weight 199 (-86) -30.18%
Shanon: Starting weight 283/Current weight 191 (-92) -32.51%
Ron: Starting weight 430/Current weight 238 (-192) -44.65%
Ladies and gentleman, Jerry is our at-home winner of $100,000!!
Well folks, we are now 2 hours into the show, so I'm guessing this last hour is going to focus on Tara, Helen, and Mikey. Everyone still with me? I'm still going strong and I'm not as tortured as I thought I'd be!
Jillian and Bob are front and center now, and I think Jillian has makeup on! Is that lip gloss I see? In another lame attempt to add unnecessary filler in this 3 hour extravaganza, we are introduced to the winner of The Biggest Loser: Australia. He lost 193lbs. Moving on...
Mike's video montage is first. He was a chubby teenager and now he isn't. We know. Next up is Helen's clip show. She was unhappy and now she's happy. We know. Finally, it's Tara's turn. She was a model who let herself go, now she's back in control. Once again, tell me something I don't know already. The video clip montages are done and it's finally time to bring out the Final 3.
Mike is first, but we already saw him at the beginning of the show. I don't mind seeing him again though! Helen busts through the picture of her former self next, and my goodness does she look amazing! She has on a tight pink dress and looks like a 48 year old sexpot. Yowza. Her body looks good but for some reason her face looks older to me. Finally, out comes Tara. She looks great. She has a blue and green dress on, but doesn't appear to be as thin as Helen. This is going to be a close one. Everyone looks super! Can Helen or Mike beat the unbeatable Tara? It won't be long now! Ali sends them backstage to prepare for the final weigh-in.
Before we find out the winner of this season, it's time to find out who America voted as the final competitor for next season. We had to choose between Erin, a student at Ohio State (boo), and Amanda, a 19 year old. Who did America choose? Next season we will be stuck with... Amanda. Hmmm. I actually kind of thought the other girl was going to win, but what do I know?
Just when I thought it was actually weigh-in time, we get MORE video clips from this season. Urgh. Come on. Ohhh yay! Now it's weigh-in time. Let's FINALLY see who is going to win this season!
Helen: Starting weight 257/Current weight 117 (-140) -54.47%
Wow, Helen seriously weighs 117lbs. That is insane.
Mikey: Starting weight 388/Current weight 181 (-207) -53.35%
Mike was 5lbs away from beating Helen.
Tara: Starting weight 294/Current weight 139 (-155) -52.72%
The Green Machine has fallen. I can't believe it!
Helen is the winner of Season 7 of The Biggest Loser!! Congrats, Helen! She is the third female winner in a row.
So to sum things up, a 64 year old grandpa won the at-home prize and a 48 year old mother won the season. I guess that goes to show that anyone can lose weight, no matter their age. Let that be an inspiration to any of you out there who feel you can't do it.
Well folks, it appears as though another season is down the tubes. This time, NBC is giving us some time to breathe. The next season won't be airing until the Fall. Phew. It's been a pleasure being your recapper and thanks to everyone who took the time to read my ramblings. This summer, when you are sitting around thinking about what you've done today to make yourself proud, just think: you've survived back-to-back seasons and lived to tell about it! Or you could just think about Mikey. *giggle* Until next time...
