Big Brother Sept 8 - As Easy As Falling Off a Log

Big Brother Sept 8 – As Easy As Falling Off a Log

Welcome to the final four, where the HOH is safe, but otherwise irrelevant. The final four is all about the veto winner. It doesn’t matter who the HOH nominates, as the veto winner will unilaterally decide who leaves. Ah yes, it’s all about the veto winner. Let’s remember that as Natalie struts around the house, so proud of her position of power as the current HOH.

Tonight’s episode is introduced by the lovely Julie Chen and her continuing parade of interesting maternity attire. I guess that means someone is going home tonight, as Julie is always on hand to interview the evicted houseguest.

Michele and Jordan made a pact to evict Kevin if either of them won the Power of Veto. Jordan remembered Jeff’s advice to stick with Michele. Kevin is still mad at Natalie for giving up her spot in the veto contest for more time with her boyfriend / fiancé / supplier of twist tie rings.

The Power of Veto contest is held, and it is a memory challenge. The Big Brother gods do not like Michele, especially after treating us to a montage earlier this week about how Michele does not have a good memory. There are four-sided tiles with a name on each side. You need to stack up the tiles so that two adjacent sides have the names of houseguests that answer trivia questions on the left and right of the pile.

Michele is the first to try her answers, and has more incorrect than right. Not a good sign. Jordan just seems to be staring at the pile of tiles. Kevin freaks when he heard Michele stacking frantically, but his first attempt was much more accurate. Michele and Jordan are toast. Kevin wins.

Michele rushes over to congratulate him, but she knows that she is toast. She starts trying to lobby Kevin to keep her as the best chance to get Natalie out before the jury votes. She makes some good logical points. Kevin looks like he is considering it. Jordan is oblivious.

Natalie runs around congratulating herself for Kevin’s Veto win that she had nothing to do with. And she makes it very clear that she was rooting for Kevin all along, so she just angered Michele and Jordan for no reason. Kevin was going to have to evict one of them anyway. Natalie had no influence over that. Yet she felt the need to piss off at least one future jury members. Dumb. Especially because it just showed again that Natalie really doesn’t understand that at the final four, it’s all about the veto winner. As for Kevin, he was much more low key. As always.

Kevin exercises his Power of Veto and takes himself off the block. Jordan goes on the block, as she is the only alternative, and she and Michele are definitely going to be split up this week. Kevin weighs his options while Natalie runs around gloating for no reason.

Julie Chen calls for Kevin’s vote for who to evict – Michele or Jordan. Jordan has a sweet little – keep me around if it will help ya’ll – speech. Michele puts on some cute devil horns, and then makes her dumbest move of the game and unloads on Kevin, telling him that his only chance to win with the jury is to keep her so she can help him knock off Natalie and go to the final 2 together.

Michele had already made her case. Kevin is either going to buy it or not. Kevin’s modus operendi all season has to be “Mr. Low Key.” How is he going to react to being bullied into openly assaulting Natalie? Michele has stated that keeping her is tantamount to a declaration of war against Natalie. Kevin is not a fan of this approach. Michele severely over-played her hand, and out she goes.

Michele joins Julie for her eviction interview. She comes off really well. The audience is very receptive. And my pick for the most worthy houseguest for the title is out of the running. Here’s a person who won a number of challenges, didn’t freak out if everyone didn’t love her, and kept her cool. Classy game, nicely played, but too bad she couldn’t make it to the end.

Julie gets the final three started on the first leg of the 3-part final HOH contest. There is a large “log” that the contestants need to stand on, and walk on (like log rolling) while holding a key suspended overhead. If they fall, they’re out. And just like you’d expect from Big Brother, they have it start “raining” on the houseguests. They look cold and miserable, and in for a long night.

We’re nearing the end, gang. Join us next Tuesday for the 2 hour finale. Good grief, what could they possibly come up with to make it last that long?
