| Re: Kevin - BB11 Really torn---magnifying others' faults, ugh; excommunicated JW, great. Anyone who describes himself as ghetto fabulous (or ghetto, fabulous) could only have stayed in the closet with willfully blind parents, but maybe his lingo is just making up for lost time. |

| Re: Kevin - BB11 Him being ex-communicated doesn't strike me as a reason to cheer him on. Or is it specifically that he was Jehovah's Witness which makes that such a good thing? Maybe the details will be shared later, at least his side, but details aside, I think being ex-communicated says something more negative than positive about him; like he's a pain in the ass. Once you determine you and your church don't see eye to eye, no one is holding a gun to your head to stay. To have been ex-communicated, seems to me he stuck around just to stick it to those he disagreed with. To what end? To change them? Unlikely. More likely just to be a pain. |

| Re: Kevin - BB11 He was most likely excommunicated for simply realizing he was gay, and refusing to suppress/deny it. That's all it would take. But he could also have been booted from the JW's for dating a girl of another faith, or saying the Pledge of Allegiance, or even having a birthday party.

| Re: Kevin - BB11 That's what I thought too. Hopefully he had a party the day they kicked him out.

| Re: Kevin - BB11 I know plenty about JW's and they don't even use the term excommunicated. Besides, they don't give you any "term" unless you do something against the "rules" and then try to COME BACK to the religion. If you drift off and never return then that's all there is to it - no "excommunication". This guy is just trying to get a sympathy vote, in my opinion.

| Re: Kevin - BB11 I would guess he used the term "excommunicated" (which is a Catholic term, right?) because it is recognizable...and the effect is the same... they won't let you back in. |
