Actually there are 2 more men than women, so there's a gay matchup.

Grodner promises this latest batch of hamsters is "remarkably fresh and unique in their personalities. No one's trying to be Dr. Will or the next Evil Dick."

So couples will get evicted before there's a chance for anything to even happen between them. Sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? Do they expect these people to start hooking up on day one?

Looks like all the beds are king or queen. I don't see any single beds at all. I think all the "soul mates" will be shacking up. The low walls are a joke and seem to provide no more than a thematic separation in decor.

I'm not a big fan of the log cabin thing, but I was tired of the boring Ikea/futuristic/psychedelic/bordello BB decor so this is an interesting change. I'm digging the spa room. That's a level of luxury we haven't seen before. Will there still be a workout room? That place saw a lot of deal making in the past but I also hated watching hamsters on the treadmill for hours on end.

Again, they seem to be having framed slogans on the wall which will probably mean something later on.

All right, I guess these are all strangers and they're looking to hook them up rather than them going in the house with someone they know. What about the people who don't want to be hooked up? According to the bios, Jen has a boyfriend that she's loyal to. I think she's the only one attached in the house Or did they know of this twist ahead of time? Somehow I think this is going to be more of a curse than a blessing.

Maybe the producers think it will be interesting either way. If the couples hook up, they get the steamy stuff, which is "good TV". If the couples end up hating each other, there's the drama of them having to figure out how to work as a team since they are stuck with each other.

We'll see...

I'm sure they think it'll be interesting. Either they'll get a big blow up and partners turning on each other or people hooking up. They win either way Somehow it may boil down to not learning to work together, but one partner hating the other so much they make sure they get themselves evicted so the other person can't win or stay in the game. What I hate most about these twists is, once again, you have a HG that really can't play his/her own game. They have to play it with and for someone else. Yeah, that might be an interesting dynamic if a person has to change their gameplay and cater to someone else but it's gotten old seeing someone's game be compromised or changed because of a twist and because there's someone in the house that needs their help.

Wow! I didn't see that twist coming. I agree with your post. One couple leaves after only a few days of meeting? I wonder how they are going to work that. If they eliminate a team a week, that means that the show should only last eight weeks. 8 weeks from February 12th would be a final around April 9th. Have we heard a definite finale date for season 9? Unless they stop the teams thing half way through the season like they did on the Biggest Loser. Who knows. I guess I'll have to see how it all plays out. Right now I have my doubts! Regardless, BB is on in less than a week from now!

It's in one of these threads but I believe the show was going to run through late April. I was wondering about the eliminations, too, and whether at some point it's everyone for themselves. But two people going each week probably does explain why they're having 16 HG.
