| Our Interview with Rachel, 8/29/05 Thirty-three-year-old Rachel left her carefree life breeding horses in the wilds of Colorado to enter the confined spaces of the Big Brother house to have her every movement broadcast on the Internet. As houseguests go, she was an unlikely one in many ways: she got up at the same time every morning while her fellow houseguests slept in past noon; she didn’t get involved in trash talking marathons and went to bed early instead; she didn’t seem to be using her time in the house as a platform for a future career in entertainment - in short, she seemed positively normal compared to her fellow houseguests. But “normal” or “under-the-radar” or any of those monikers don’t mean a thing if you don’t win HOH the week you need it. Congratulations for making it through eight very difficult weeks in the Big Brother house, Rachel! Thank you! What was your strategy coming into the house with your secret partner? We didn’t have one, other than be nice, watch and listen, then let the strategy develop as the game did. When did you have an inkling you weren't the only pair? Before I got there! I told Howie there was no way we would be the only pair. We talked about it and how it would affect the game before we left. The week that Maggie won HOH, did you throw the HOH competition? Did you throw any of the HOH competitions? I did not throw the HOH that Maggie won, but I did throw the HOH that Howie won. Big mistake on my part. ![]() You said in your interview with Julie Chen that the critical moment that lost you the game was when Howie nominated James and Sarah. Do you think the outcome would have been different if you had taken out James that week? It’s hard to say since the dynamics of the game change so quickly. I’ll just say I’m glad James is still in the game for now....and that I truly believe I am out of the house because Howie nominated James and Sarah. I truly believe that. It just changed the game so much. What did you think of Howie’s behavior with April, after Kaysar was put on the block by Jennifer? I don't know how to explain Howie's behavior. I know that he was very unhappy. He took Kaysar's betrayal very personally and I think he just had to express himself that day. We have heard a lot this season about playing the game with honesty and integrity - many times from players who have gone back on their promises. What is your philosophy on how to play the game? Don’t make promises you’re not prepared to keep. Sometimes in this game you have to lie, but to swear on your life and then do the opposite will get you evicted. What did you think of Ivette's goodbye message? Did you steal her toothbrush or something? In other words, why was she so mad? I was as surprised by that message as you! I don’t have an answer, but I will say that she was angry all week. No clue. Did you think you had a better chance of winning the grand prize overall than Howie? That would just depend on week-to-week changes in the house. If “bad Howie” kept coming out, then yes, I think I would. Who were the biggest instigators in the house? I would say it was Jennifer, April, Ivette, Beau...and probably, James. What were the worst and best moments in the house? There are too many to list, but watching Howie was the best. Running across the yard in his underwear, that was funny. The Snack Shack from Hell was both the best and worst moments for me. What do you think of the shrine to Cappy in the HOH room? Get over it! America didn’t want him back for a reason. He would have campaigned against all of you. Ugh! Ridiculous! ![]() You seemed to get along with Eric while he was in the house. Do you think you would have stuck with his alliance if he hadn’t been taken out fairly early in the game? I did like Eric, but I didn’t like his attitude towards the game. I was sticking with Howie, that was the only sure thing for me. What was your impression of Ivette when you first met her, and did it change as you got to know her better? Ivette seemed fun and outgoing. She was a little over-the-top, but nice. Then an ugly side started to show. She has been very cocky and angry in the last week or two. I hope to see her soon. How about Janelle? At first I thought I would hate Janelle, but come to find out we have a lot of commonalities between us. She’s full of attitude, and I just love her! Did you feel close to anyone in the house besides Howie? Howie is of course my number one, but I really liked Kaysar. I’m sure I’ll keep in touch with him. Who do you think is playing the best game right now? I don’t know if anyone is. I was, but you see where it got me. I don’t know the people in the other group very well to make that determination. What did you learn from this experience? I learned a lot about myself. I’m very driven and hard on myself, and I’ve learned to have more patience and let life fall into place like it’s supposed to. Is there anything else you would like the viewers to know? I would like everyone to know that Howie and I know we made one of the worst decisions in the game, but he’s still there fighting. I had a great experience overall and I’m so glad that I took a chance for once. Best of luck in your future endeavors, Rachel! Thank you again for answering questions for fansofrealitytv.com. Thanks to Rachel for giving us her time, and many thanks to CBS for granting the interview.

| Great Interview: Rachel showed again she's the real deal, as she has been since the beginning. The problem she had was she had to be HOH in the first week, at least in my opinion. |

| I didn't track the show closeley in the beginning so I'm not completely sure how Rachel was but I know her alliances changed pretty quickly. She is a class act and really, the only one with her head screwed on tight. People talk about Janelle and Kaysar, but I wonder about Rachel and Kaysar. I can see Micheal and Janelle together and Kaysar and Rachel together. |

| I didn't realize the depths of Ivette's despise of Rachel. But it is very understandable... I mean, how dare Rachel bake cookies! |

| Great recap as always...Rachel definitely had her head on straight and I enjoyed watching her play the game. But man, did she really have to stoop so low as to BAKE....for the entire HOUSE?! Come on, that would offend me too! ![]()

| Great interview! Ivette was mad that Rachel baked cookies for the entire house?! That woman has some serious problems.
