| Our Interview with Jennifer, 8/26/05 Seventh to leave the Big Brother house, 27-year-old arena dancer Jennifer found herself evicted mere hours after finishing her term as Head of Household. Whether it was a good game move or not, her choice to evict Kaysar created storms of controversy both in the house and in cyberspace. Stuck in sequesterville, Jennifer was kind enough to give thoughtful answers to some difficult questions - although in the interests of not “tainting” the jury, they weren’t as difficult as they could have been. In your blog, you stated that you were giving America what they wanted by evicting Kaysar. But it seems that despite what you wrote, while in the house you made fun of the situation, like saying America gave you a bad gift and you were returning it. Why do you think America would want Kaysar out if they had just voted him back in the house? First of all, I meant that I was giving America what they wanted by stirring up the house - not getting rid of any specific individual. Second of all I believe it was others in my group referring to it as “a bad gift being returned.” They were pretty upset Eric wasn’t asked back instead. But this wasn’t a personal attack on Kaysar. I just thought I’d do what I respected him so much for doing when he was HOH. What were your accomplishments in the house? Some of my accomplishments were stepping up to the plate for the whole house during several of the food competitions. Or example, I ate both snakes for Maggie and I, I spelled my word right during the spelling bee, and I got my answer right plus the bonus question for Matching Munchies. What moments made you proud? I was most proud of my group sticking together and supporting each other throughout the game. It made me feel proud myself to know that I kept my word that I made with my group which was the only thing that mattered to me in this game. Most importantly, I was proud of how I conducted myself that last week (when all the fighting erupted) compared to other houseguests. We all know that lies are a part of the game, and are not against the rules. Was lying part of your strategy? (e.g. Michael hitting the wall in rage, you and April not campaigning to get Ivette evicted, you not knowing April that well) ![]() Lying was definitely NOT part of my strategy. As far as Michael’s “hitting the wall” story, I never said that. Ivette completely misunderstood me and spread that lie. I had no idea that when I heard that story, it had apparently come from me. I approached Ivette about it and of course she thinks she’s right over everyone else. As far as April and I mentioning Ivette as a consideration for eviction, that’s all it was - not campaigning. We talked about it briefly one night but quickly said we would never evict her the next morning. Janelle, Howie and Rachel then got upset about our decision. Who did you like in the house? I liked everyone in the house. I’m only human, so some things done and said struck me on a personal level, but I didn’t let it affect my game play. I would never hold anything someone said or did while in the house against them. The game makes people do stupid things they wouldn’t normally do. If they prove me wrong after we get out of the game then that’s a different story. Who did you see as your biggest threat in the house? Everyone in the house is a threat equally because they stand between me and winning the game. I had the hardest time with Ivette wanting me gone and not knowing me well in the beginning of the game. I think it also hurt her when she wouldn’t listen very well to others and didn’t compromise on certain issues she didn’t have a full understanding of. Julie Chen described your time in the house as "flying under the radar," and you told her you stepped it up a notch. When you targeted Kaysar, knowing that it would be perceived as a betrayal, were you at all motivated by a desire to get more "screen time?" That was not at all my intention. If I cared about screen time that much, I wouldn’t have flown under the radar for the first five weeks. I knew it was just a matter of time before I was evicted myself, and would rather leave knowing I actually played the game and made an effort than just laying low. Did you put up Kaysar at the insistence of the rest of your alliance? Beau was the one that brought the idea to the table. Once my group discussed it further, they all agreed he should be backdoored instead of James. I really did not want to break my deal with Kaysar, but that might have been our only chance to get rid of someone that was obviously a bigger threat to our group as a whole. Your alliance agreed before you announced your alternate nominee that they would say it was a group decision. Did you feel they kept that promise? My group did repeatedly say that the decision was a group one. However, I felt that when I was being attacked by Kaysar, Janelle and Howie soon after, my group did not give me their full support as promised. Ivette was nowhere to be found, Beau didn’t say much, April left because she couldn’t handle the pressure, and though Maggie was present, she didn’t say much either, just listened. During the endurance competition, you cried and begged for the HOH position while winking to the camera. Can you easily cry on cue? No, I cannot cry on cue. But yes, I can cry easily when I’m placed in an emotionally draining situation. No one knows what it’s like to live in those conditions and how it affect you. I cried because of the feeling I got being so close to getting HOH and possibly seeing pictures of Dan and my family. I also cried because of what I needed to do to save my group and having been in there for 12 hours plus. As far as winking, it wasn’t to the other houseguests. It was to my family and friends back home. I can’t imagine how they felt seeing me go through that and I wanted them to know I was okay even though I was breaking down so they wouldn’t worry. If you were going to backdoor someone other than James, why did you backdoor the one person who had handed you HOH? Why not Howie? As I’ve said before, my group showed me that Kaysar was obviously the bigger threat in the house. But the only options were James or Kaysar. My group’s decision about Kaysar wasn’t preplanned before I got HOH. Although I greatly appreciate what Kaysar did for me, that’s all part of the game. I’ve always told everyone in the house not to trust anyone but themselves. The "Friendship" members often talked about how they had played the game with more integrity than the other side. Knowing all the lies you told in the game, do you agree? I think what was meant by that was that we played with integrity longer than the other group in the house. Once the other group started playing dirty, I feel that our group felt it was okay to do it in return. I don’t think anyone in the house played with integrity the whole time because being a part of a group makes you equally responsible for your HOH’s decisions that week. Does a person's actions in this game have any reflection on the way they are in real life? Our true selves do come out somewhat but not completely. I really believe that the game and unusual conditions make people act in a way they normally wouldn’t. We don’t normally have to live with people 24/7 that we don’t get along with - we can walk away. And we normally don’t compete and strategize against our friends. What is your opinion of your alliance members: Beau? Maggie? Ivette? Beau is a great guy. He is emotional and caring with a huge heart. He is willing to do anything to help a friend. Maggie is down to earth and very smart. She’s a great friend and very loyal. Ivette is your typical, passionate Latina. She is extremely opinionated and loud. Ivette fills a room but is also sensitive. Do you think April can make it to the end? I have complete faith in April being able to make it to the end. She’s an emotional player, which could hurt her but it wouldn’t surprise me if she was one of the final two. Thanks for answering my questions. Good luck in the future, and enjoy your summer vacation! You’re welcome, and thanks! Many thanks to Jennifer for answering my questions, and to CBS for granting the interview.

| Thanks for the interview. It doesn't change my opinion on Jen at all, but it is an interesting read.

| Great interview, Heppy! Thanks! Nice spin by Jen too. She might want to reconsider her job as an arena league dancer and become a spin doctor for one of the political parties.

| All I have to say is that the mind is a powerful thing If you want to believe something ... and you want sooooo bad, you end up believing your own crap. Her and her friendship should be taken to task on their lies, mistruths, gossip-mongering, and backstabbing. Put them in a room with all the footage and have them answer to all if it. Make them cry. They deserve nothing less, those hypocryical preditors. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so critical of others, while having their own faults. And it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't read the bible and quote the bible, and pretend to be so spiritual and holy... |

| Hepcat! This was one of my favorite interviews because of the great questions you asked! Did anybody get the feeling that Jennifer was coming off bitter, especially when talking about Ivette? |
