| Our Interview with Sarah, 8/16/05 Fifth to leave the Big Brother house was Sarah, the 23-year-old cutiepie who came into the game at the request of her boyfriend. A tall, striking brunette, Sarah seemed poised to win the title of America’s Sweetheart with her sweet manner and obvious devotion to her live-in boyfriend, James. Unfortunately for Sarah, her boyfriend was a controversial player in the house who has been a target for weeks, and she was caught in the crossfire. I was fortunate enough to catch up with Sarah (who is watching the live feeds along with many of us FORTers) and found her to be just as bubbly and engaging as she was on the show. In this interview, she has warm words about James - but she also has some surprising opinions about the other personalities in the house. Congratulations for making it through five very difficult weeks in the Big Brother house, Sarah! Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. Thank you, it’s wonderful to talk to you! What was your strategy coming into the house with your secret partner? Well, we originally thought that we would join groups on different sides of the house so that we could play from both ends. We knew we would have to pretend to be single, and we tried to play like we were two unattached singles. I’m not sure how much we followed that strategy, though. So if the pairs had never been revealed, would you have kept up the fiction that you had nothing to do with each other, so that you wouldn’t be targeted as a couple? I don’t know, we really didn’t ever expect to reveal we were a pair. I don’t know what we would have done, we never really talked about it. We expected to keep it a secret the whole time, and of course, once you get in the house that all goes out the window because your strategy changes day by day. You can’t hold onto it because it just changes every day. After Howie won HOH, did you think you were safe this week? Um, yes! When Howie won HOH I was so relieved. It was the first time in the house we felt we could relax and just enjoy being there and hanging out with people. Did you throw the HOH competition to Howie and Rachel? I didn’t throw any HOH competitions while I was in the house, but it is a controversial thing. The night Maggie won we had practiced for a long time, and I knew you had to roll the ball pretty hard, but my hand was shaking so much it just went in that first hole there. I think Howie and Rachel threw that competition, though. They just launched those balls down the lane, I was there right behind them. If you had won the POV, would you have saved yourself or James? I was in this game to play for James, so I would have to say that I would have used it to save James. ![]() We have heard a lot this season about playing the game with honesty and integrity - many times from players who have gone back on their promises. What is your philosophy on how to play the game? I think you can go farther playing a clean game than you can by lying. I definitely think that was James’ demise, was that he put a big target on his back by lying. I don’t know if you can win by being honest in the game but I definitely think you can go farther. What impact do you think being in the house together will have on your relationship with James? It was great, it brought us even closer. We live together, and I am even more convinced now that he is incredibly special. I don’t know how much you heard about my background, but I came out of a relationship where I had practically no self-esteem, and James just makes me feel strong and so wonderful. It might not look that way to America but he is so supportive of me and we have a very strong relationship. Are there any women in the house that you want to keep away from James? (laughs) No, I know the women in the house and they all have their relationships. April is married, Jennifer has her boyfriend whom she loves very much, Janie cares very much for Michael...no, there’s no one in the house I want to keep away from James. Who is the biggest instigator in the house? Hmmm. It’s hard to see when you’re in the house, but now that I’ve been out, I’ve read around the Internet a little bit, and thinking about things...I would have to say April. There are many times where she would just walk up, start a conversation, and say something really subtle against someone else and before you know it she’s started something without anyone ever realizing it came from her. On the televised show, viewers witnessed James swearing on the Bible to Ivette that he would nominate Rachel and Howie if he won HOH. Did James ever admit to you that he had done this? Yes, James did tell me about the Bible swear, but you didn’t see the whole thing about it. You have to understand that yes, he did his thing, but it was only because that day we were mad at Rachel and Howie. It’s like - you have to understand that when you’re in the house there are times when you feel one thing at one point in time and the next day you wake up and you’re best friends again. It changes from day to day. So James did do that, but he took it back a few hours later. James is always fussing at you for eating too much. Why do you put up with that? James - I wouldn’t say he has a problem with women getting fat, just that we are very health conscious people and he doesn’t see how some women let themselves get so obese that it’s a health issue. I know I don’t have a weight problem, and I try to eat healthy - but I do like my ice cream and M&Ms! I definitely think I can gain 10 to 15 pounds and it would not be a problem for James. We play a lot in our relationship, and I think what you saw was how we interact playfully. What were the worst and best moments in the house? The best moment was definitely when we formed the Sovereign Six, because those people just felt so right. We really just clicked as people together, and we felt so close to them. It felt so good to go to Janie and tell her we were a pair, they were the first ones we told and it was such a relief to be honest with them. I mean, we told them in order to earn their trust, but it was such a great feeling to tell them. Only to be put up by one of them later. Yes, definitely the worst moment was when Howie nominated us and broke up our group. What kind of HOH do you think Jen will make? (laughs) She will definitely be on a power trip. She’s a smug player, and it will go to her head. What was your impression of Ivette when you first met her, and did it change as you got to know her better? How about Janelle? I love Ivette! I think she’s a great person, and I love Janelle too, she’s just the coolest person. I definitely know I will be friends with both of them outside the house, they are both wonderful people. Do you feel you put trust in the wrong people? I definitely don’t feel I put my trust in the wrong people, because when I was with the Cappy group that was definitely the wrong people to be trusting. No, I wouldn’t say that at all. Best of luck in your future endeavors, Sarah! Thank you again for answering questions for fansofrealitytv.com. Many thanks to Sarah for graciously answering my questions, and to CBS for granting the interview. I hope you de-lurk and register, Sarah!

| Great interview as always. I just wished she would have gotten on James' case about lying not to mention with his hand on the bible...Sarah was all about playing honestly, I wish she had really tore James up and down for that one, she certainly would have made it further. QUOTED: On the televised show, viewers witnessed James swearing on the Bible to Ivette that he would nominate Rachel and Howie if he won HOH. Did James ever admit to you that he had done this? It changes from day to day. So James did do that, but he took it back a few hours later. It just seems childish that they were mad at Howie and Rachel so he rew his hand in the bible to out them...Oh well. I guess they played the game the way they wanted. I am still a Sarah fan and she did come off as sweet and bubbly as she did on TV. |

| I loved the interview, Hep. Great questions, and Sarah gave some intriguing answers. I'd love to see her come out of hiding and tell us what she thinks as the game goes on.
