Big Brother 4: 9/11 Eviction Show - Can't We Just Start Over?

Big Brother 4
9/17 Eviction Episode Recap

75 Days in the Asylum, and All I Got Was This Stupid Shirt

Only three remain, or is it really just two? Robert gave up on part one of the final HoH competition, and then was beaten by Jun in part two. He has no say now in his future, and instead must wait to see whom between Ali and Jun wins part three.

The only thing of importance this show is the final competition, and really that doesn’t matter does it? Ali and Jun have seen their alliance come to fruition. Surely they will not give up on each other now.

So lets jump right to the contest and find out what happens right? No such luck. This is an hour long show, so Julie is tasked with cramming 4 minutes of competition into 56 minutes of commercials and filler. Those commercials were pretty good…

People on the Jury Love Me!

We are treated to a video montage of the brilliance of the houseguests. For example, Alison tells Robert than her grandmother had five sets of twins. Robert is amazed, and immediately wants to know if she had them all at once… twins… five sets… never mind.

Jun and Alison share their master strategies for the game. Jun’s was girl power, never mind that she just got lucky. Alison admits to flirting and using her body to get ahead. Somehow it worked.

But what of Robert?

Well he choked in the HoH competitions, and now waits to be axed. He is not going down without a fight. He threatens both Alison and Jun, saying that if they ax him, he will go to the jury and ensure no one votes for them. Not a bad strategy actually, but then he makes the fatal mistake. He says that people on the jury love him and that they listen to him. Well even Ali can see that statement is about as truthful as your average Enron financial disclosure.

On top of that, Robert brags in the diary room that he is feeling very comfortable. He is “not stressing at all.” You are sooooooo dead Robert.

Live in the House

Julie Chen calls the guests together, and it is time for questions and answers.

She asks Alison if she would rather spend another day alone with the mime, or 75 more days in the house. Ali would go with the 75 more days. No kidding? I expect you never want to leave the house at this point, as you have… things, shall we say… to answer for with Donnie. Besides, no one asked the mime what he thought about it. Not that he would answer of course…

Jun thinks that her parents might like her again if she brings home the money. Awwww, family love.

Robert, who has won all the America’s Choice competitions, responds to Julie asking him “why does America love you so much?” I missed most of his answer because I passed out when Julie said that. America loves Robert? Ha!

Julie, have you ever heard the term “the lesser of two evils”? Well it works in threes, as well you know.

Robert, Up Close and Personal

Just kidding!

But I did half way expect yet another Robert report, complete with the requisite “I miss Elana” boo hoo fest.

Instead, we see something worse. A discussion of stress in the house, and I honestly wish I had not ordered room service prior to the show. First, we learn that Jun is a “stress-eater”. Well, stress must be pretty high cal, for the BB cameras give us a before and after, both in bathing suits, and I really didn’t need to see that.

Alison on the other hand shows her stress through her face breaking out, and again, room service was a bad idea.

Finally, Robert seems to be happy and energetic. Clearly he is still clueless about the show ending. Rather than break it to him, they fall back on the easy card, hey Robert… do you miss your daughter? Ah, there we go… crank up the tear pumps.

Next, family and friends jump in for comments. My favorite was Robert’s parents assessing their son’s play so far. “He’s lucky”. They elaborate on that point, saying that he was carried by Justin and Jee through much of the game. Gosh, Jun’s parents are looking better all the time.

HOH Part III

Ali and Jun will compete for the final HoH role. The name of the game is Exact Match. Their ex’s, Justin and Jee, were interviewed for this contest, and the test is to see if they can match their ex’s answer to eight questions.

I could have sworn I heard Julie chuckle under her breath, “see you doubters! The power of ex does matter!!!!!!!”

Question 1 – The guys were asked, is your ex still attractive to you?
Alison says Yes (did we doubt that?). Much to her chagrin, Justin assures us he does not find Alison attractive. Jun says no, and Jee agrees. Jun leads 1-0

Question 2 – Did the guys trust their ex before they were nominated?
Alison says Yes, and once again, Justin slams her remotely by saying no. June says no, Jee didn’t trust her. Jee disagrees. No score.

Question 3 – Did the guys feel that their ex had “their back”?
Alison rethinks her strategy, finally accepts that Justin does like her, and decides she had better say No. Justin, as if led by heavenly guidance, says yes. Jun says No, but Jee, who actually believed in their secret alliance, says yes. No score.

Question 4 – The guys were asked, was their ex responsible for their breakup?
Alison quickly answers No. Justin agrees. Jun says no, but Jee says yes. The score is now tied at 1-1

Question 5 – Does your ex have a soul?
Okay, this one cannot be missed right? Everyone says yes, so the score is tied 2-2. Jee gets in a good dig though, saying that Jun has a soul, even though she was a bitch at times. The score is now 2-2.

Question 6 – The guys were asked, was your ex more in control of the house than you were?
Alison says No. Justin agrees. Jun says Yes. Jee agrees. Now tied at 3-3

Question 7 – Was your ex better in bed?
Alison has trouble answering… she fumbles the board. It is an obvious dilemma. She says No (she was not better than Justin). He says yes. Ooops. Jun says Yes, and Jee does as well, that was easy for them. Jun now leads 4-3 going into the last question.

Question 8 – Besides the reunion, would the guys want to see their ex again outside of the house.
Alison says No. Justin confirms that suspicion. Based on the earlier questions, I think Alison had a pretty good idea what way to go. Jun says yes, still thinking that Jee is her little toy. Jee makes it clear he has no desire to ever see her again. That gets her attention.

Is there a tie every week on this show?

Tie Breaker – How many days did you date? (note that Julie says again that it is closest without going over, unless both go over, in which case it is closest to the number. Conspiracy theorists note, these are the identical instructions she gave prior to Robert and Erika’s numerical tie breaker).

Ali says zero. Jun says one million. Yup, I think these two planned all along how this would play out, and while they almost blew it, in the end, Alison wins.

Jury Update

Back at the jury house, the same old things are going on, and we are forced to endure more Justin and Dana private moments. I mean really, shouldn’t the FCC step in here at some point?

Nathan is still begging for a female to show up. When Erika arrives he is overjoyed. He immediately blurts out that Erika is his bedmate. Wow… nice pickup line. I need to try that, because it works. Erika joins him in the queen bed, and Nathan is almost giddy when he tells us that she sleeps nude.

Thanks for sharing that with America Nate.

Enough Already. Someone Needs to Go!

We fit in a quick HoH private interview with Alison. She says she is sure that Jun threw the competition (no kidding?). No matter what though, she felt safe. Her mind is made up.

The final pleas are given. Robert says he knows Alison played an emotional game (really?) and that she will make the right decision. Jun, makes her usual do the right thing pep talk, and reminds Alison that they have a chance to prove the men who underestimated them wrong.

Alison evicts Robert.

I have to give Alison credit. It seemed clear that her pact with Jun was to go to the final two together, the question was, who would take the heat for evicting Robert? Jun didn’t want that job, but Alison seized the moment.

Faced with evicting a man who threatened to turn the jury against her, she instead gave her best performance of the show to date, assuring Robert that she had to evict him because it was clear he had the votes to win, and he was such a strong player.

Yeah, I am laughing too…

But it works, and Robert leaves, feeling vindicated. Julie asks him about the threats he made, and he says that is just game play, he will vote for the player who deserves it most. Why do I fear that is Alison? Wait, why do I fear it might be Jun? I slump in my hotel recliner. It is time to accept that I will not be happy with the outcome of this show. I haven’t been this depressed since those bastards changed the Lifesavers flavors.

Rather than shuffle Robert off to the joys of jury living, the producers have brought his daughter out to see him, and I have to admit it was a touching moment seeing them hug and cry.

Okay, enough of that crap.

The show ends with Alison and Jun openly celebrating their final two status.

Tune in Friday night for … well, I have idea what they will cover. Next Wednesday is the final vote.

Great recap, Bill! I needed this, because I can't bring myself to watch the show anymore, yet I'm still inexplicably curious as to who wins.

Thanks, Bill! My VCR (and rightly so) made the decision to crap out during this show so I didn't get to see any of it. Your recap is MUCH more palatable than the actual thing.

great recap bill!

I liked the part where ratbert's father said he got as far as he did cause he is a great bullsh*tt*r!

gee dad, no kidding? then ratbert goes on to tell each lady he will sling the mud and sway the jury against them if they vote him off, cause people really like me! what a load of crap, that one comment beats the load of crap they had to dig through in TAR this season by miles.

aliwhore's folks comments on how she knows how to backstab cause she was in beauty pageants, so much for the wholesome idea of beauty pageants and the Miss America comp. ...lol... was I seeing things or did they not show a video of her at a pageant? being lead across stage by a guy in bib overalls with a rope around her neck and the audience shouting suuieeeee, ssuuuuiiiiieeeeee!!!!!!

As for Jun, sad that her folks choose not to comment, hey mom and pops, your in america now, not fudal japan!

Top Five? It's seems to me these are the only funny/dumb things that happened on the show, in all these weeks. Can anyone remember more we need something to smile about.
