Big Brother "Winner" Adam Jasinski Jailed After Copping to Drug Trafficking, Tax Dodging

Big Brother is always watching. But sometimes, Johnny Law steps in to cover a shift or two.

Guess which one was on duty when Adam Jasinski, the " winner " of Big Brother 9, pleaded guilty to a drug charge and failing to file a tax return on his 2008 half-million dollar winnings?

Richard Hatch 2.0 entered the responsibility-accepting pleas in Boston's U.S. District Court earlier today, and while he has yet to be formally sentenced on the dumbo moves, nevertheless was cuffed and taken to jail, where he will begin what will no doubt be a lengthy sentence.

The criminal copping was something of an about-face for the ever insensitive 32-year-old, who previously pleaded not guilty on both charges.

He got the first of his one-two punches back in October 2009, when he was arrested in as part of a drug-trafficking bust after he attempted to sell some 2,000 oxycodone pills to an undercover government witness. (The pills, incidentally, were allegedly supplied by fellow BB9 housemate Matthew McDonald, though he pleaded not guilty to the accusation.)

The sting took place just outside Boston, where Jasinski had flown in from his native Florida just for the occasion.

If convicted on the possession with intent to distribute charge, he faces a maximum of 20 years' imprisonment and a $1 million fine. Which sort of makes you think he should've just paid the taxes on his $500,000 prize pool to begin with.

His sentencing is scheduled to take place on Jan. 11.

Big Brother Winner Adam Jasinski Sentenced to Four Years in Prison - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com

Big Brother 9 winner Adam Jasinski has been sentenced to four years in prison on drug and tax charges, The Associated Press reports.

U.S. District Court Judge William Young sentenced Jasinski Friday for attempting to sell 2,000 oxycodone pills to a witness cooperating with the government in North Reading, Mass., in October 2009.

Jasinski pleaded guilty in October to possession with attempt to distribute oxycodone and failure to file a tax return for 2008, the year he won Big Brother's $500,000 prize. He has remained in custody since.

Before the sentencing, Jasinski asked Young for leniency, and said he was being treated for bipolar disorder and drug addiction.

Jasinski had faced a maximum of 14 years on the drug charge and one year on the tax charge.
