sweetjadesmommy I think you had a excellent post. You were on point with the materialism issue... and I am as guilty as everyone else, with my purses.
As far as James competing on a reality show.. CBS picked him up off the side of the road a few days before the show started, hence his lack of new or extra clothes. That is why he kept wishing for a Clothes Challenge, He took in only what he had on his bike. What better place to make a name for yourself than TV? Once he leaves the house and gets back on his normal life, cycling, etc.. People will stop him and know him and he can spread his message all the easier.
Maybe I am missing this youtube video.. I will be the first to admit a wrong, but can someone point out to me where James says that he uses money be obtains in Minnesota or Iowa to pay his bar tab in Florida?
The money he takes is ONLY to get him to the next state, the next stop, so he can spread his message further. I assume he came home empty handed, like when he left. That the POINT of what he is doing. Unless someone can prove me incorrect?
As far as the Tattoo's.. I think that is James way of asserting his "f the man" mentality. Its his body... no one has a right to tell him what he can or can not put on it.. so the constitution says.
by the way, James is not the only one cycling around the world promoting peace, google it. At least he is doing SOMETHING.. he isn't just sitting around talking about it.
