I guess it's a good thing Ariana has her pop music money to fall back on: Her Nick show has officially been cancelled:

The rumors were around for months -- I wonder if she and Frankie already knew this was coming when he went into the house...

Heart felt condolences to Frankie G. regarding the death
of his grandfather. I wonder if this tragic event will have
any bearing on him continuing with the game?

You will need to read yesterday's live feed comments to discover what happened. It may also be shown on the show tonight.

Notifying Frankie about his loss makes me wonder what are the parameters of informing houseguests about the outside world. I kind of recall that the game was in play during 9/11 but that the HG's weren't informed at the time. I always assumed they saw some of the CBS crew constructing sets in the backyard. One of my dentist's patients works on BB and he said the producers black out the windows while competition sets go up so it's truly a surprise as they walk outside to play and not seeing crew adds to their intended isolation. I've always been curious how potential HG's get away with taking 12-13 weeks off of work to do the show and just heard on the Reality TV Podcast that CBS pays them each a stipend of $1000 per week to be on the show.

Actually, the BB2 HGs were informed when 9/11 happened -- it was down to the final 3 (Nicole, Dr. Will and Monica). Monica was from New York, and had a cousin who was in the towers that morning.

Thanks for correcting me on that, MF. Watching that link you posted was very moving and really shows how the show has evolved from BB 2 to today. I had the added benefit of getting to see 9 minutes of my favorite player of all time, the Mayor of Chill Town, Dr. Will, in his initial game before he was an all star or a doctor. I do have to say they handled the 9/11 issue with a lot of sensitivity and I got the feeling way back then the jury didn't head off to a luxurious paid sequester. The podcast I referred to above on the issue of stipend suggested some HG's are just trying to float to jury to get the full base pay from CBS.

Wow. What an emotional link to watch. Thanks.
I did have to laugh at the FINAL HoH comp that was a series of housework chores.

Who would have guessed that Zankie would be the most socially relevant thing to come out of BB 16? Allison Grodner has always included one token gay in the cast. Last year's candidate Andy broke through a glass BB ceiling by being the first gay guy to actually win the thing. You might give props to CBS about representing the community on its reality shows as the first winners of SURVIVOR and THE AMAZING RACE were also gay. What makes Zankie unique is Zach's comfort level as a straight guy being physically close (even sharing a bed with) a very out gay fellow HG. The microcosm of BB does speak for society as a whole. TV has come a long way since Ellen first came out. It isn't about Frankie's freedom to express himself. It's about how seamlessly Frankie blends into this world filled with straight boys, pink hair to boot.

I still find the Zach and Frankie bond interesting. AWFielder does
bring up a good point about Zach's comfort level with Frankie. I
find Zach's openness to Frankle one of his best qualities.
I do feel that Zach although straight may still be searching for his
own identity in the world. In a lot of cases I am not sure Zach knows
who he is yet. Eventhough I am not a huge fan of Frankie maybe
his openness and out there personality has helped humanize Zach
    just a bit.
