Dick is an immature little man who is about to be a man with alot of money. Dick is no fool. Dick's smart enough to use the ignorance of the other players to his advantage.

No one is calling him a fool. No one said he doesn't have a brain. He IS an immature man who hides behind threats and intimidation. Let him have all the money. I'll enjoy watching him self-destruct.

WOW! I love Dick but I really think you are giving him too much credit...he's the reason America is going down the tubes???? And here I thought all along it was George W. Bush.....

I know you were joking, and probably obvious, but I think what was meant was, that people applaud Dick's type of behavior is the reason America is going down the tubes. That Americans are no longer as rewarding of civil behavior and good sportsmanship as they were.
I know many people were bored by Season 1, but I liked it... liked all the nice people, trying to get along once one or two crabs left at the start. Unpleasant people got voted out!!! Even at the end the finalists were saying to give it to the one legged contestant who wanted the money for his niece's college education, don't give it to me. Somehow I don't think Dick or Dani live in that universe.
PS But I agree about GWB's contribution to the tube slide!
