I think they would rather have the guilt trip to lay on the HQ's when they vote Dan off as AP and brag about it and Julie goes " you didn't vote off the AP because there isn't one. you just treated someone like crap for no reason, have a nice day"

Right. the houseguests will have no remorse, which is why Dan should be able to continue to profit. I'll be voting for him to win the jury prize if he doesn't make it to the final two.
