Decan, I totally respect your right to your opinion and your right to express it. In fact, the things you've said here show a lot of intelligent thought that's gone into them. I actually agree with you that from the standpoint of a "fair fight," CBS has probably made some casting errors this season.

But what I'm looking at is the entertainment value of the show. From that standpoint, having Michael and Jen on the show was not a casting error. I alluded earlier to game shows. Are you familiar with the quiz show scandals of the 1950's ? They made a movie about one in 1994. Yes, that is an extreme case, but in that instance, the networks sacrificed ALL integrity - actually rigged the outcome - in favor of entertainment. Now, that was wrong, but one thing that hasn't and never will change about TV - it is entertainment. That's the business the networks are in.

What's funny to me is that when a contest doesn't go to the liking of the majority - like BB last year - the natural tendency is to start playing with the system. Sorta like they say "Let's see how we can tweak this thing to effect the outcome that SHOULD have happened last year !" Maybe CBS has overtweaked this time. Time will tell.

QBoots, looks like your notes are pretty much the same, if not better! than BB's BB2 webpage diary

All I know is that I think he really wants/needs the money, and I am rooting for him! Being from the North, I am always intersted when I hear Southern accents, and get a kick out of it. I find my own "boring", so I enjoy hearing Mc talk.

Thanks and I respect yours. The thing is I KNOW the networks aren't doing us viewers (or the contestants for that matter) any favor by making these kinds of show nothing more than pure entertainment..... but what I'm saying here is that the producers and directors alike are just trying a bit TOO hard to entertain us. If you're somewhat of a reality buff like myself, you know the cast of this year's BB is hardly "original" and in fact, some might say carbon copies of previous seasons and/ or other reality shows. Because of that, it's NOT entertaining anymore. Don't get me wrong, I WANT entertainment. I WANT to enjoy the show just as the next BB fan. I'm not dismissing the entertainment value of the show.

I guess like you said, we'll have to keep watch to see what'll happen next. But my bet is on the side of another season wasted rather than a potentially "enjoyable" "entertaining" one.

Oh I wasn't suggesting that he leave. I certainly see him staying as long as he can. I guess I'm still just hung up on CBS even pulling this stunt. I think it's going a little too far for ratings.

With all of this talk I will put in my opinion. I like Michael, I don't see how you can't, he is a family man and doing this for his son and soon to be wife. From what I have seen he is a great guy and deserves a ton of respect. Big Brother pulled a great twist for him, as much as I hate watching this new crappy twist, he is dealing with it and still focusing on his family.

I tend to agree, and I think that goes back to decan's point about sacrificing the "game" aspect a little too much in favor of the entertainment value. No knock to the guy, but I wonder if Michael, or Nokomis (sp?) either for that matter, would be on the show if not for the sake of this stunt.

And thank the good lord that we all have the choice of changing the channel if we're not happy with what we're watching.
